Lexie said, “I know. Ms. Graham’s gone. If you guys hadn’t insisted on burying her on Dora Planet back then, I would never have snuck onto your battleship and met all of you.”

Hearing Lexie say that, Ryker let out a helpless, bitter smile before slowly speaking, “Lex, do you know that because of the Clyssia Disease, Ms. Graham was the only female left in the entire Aetherion Interstellar Zone?

“At the time, Ms. Graham belonged to the Aetherion Empire, but she was too precious. So the Aetherion Federation and the Aetherion Empire reached an agreement–for Ms. Graham’s health, everything regarding her would be handled jointly by both the Aetherion Federation and the Aetherion Empire.

“Ever since that agreement, the Aetherion Empire and the Aetherion Federation decided that no matter whether a new female appeared in the future, her safety would be jointly ensured by both sides.

“Now that Ms. Graham is gone, the agreement should have been nullified. But then, Ms. Reyes came out of nowhere, someone who is completely immune to the Clyssia Virus.

“Ms. Reyes’s arrival has caused an enormous stir across the entire interstellar zone. Everyone is celebrating her appearance. Whether on the Interstellar Net or offline, people are discussing every topic related to Ms. Reyes.

“The Aetherion Federation and the Aetherion Empire have also begun to re–examine that old agreement because of Ms. Reyes.

“Ms. Reyes is the first female in hundreds of years capable of resisting the Clyssia Virus. Her significance is extraordinary. That’s why both the Aetherion Federation and the Aetherion Empire want to get Ms. Reyes on their side.

“And the agreement, originally made for Ms. Graham, has now become the key to both countries vying for Ms. Reyes.

“Just yesterday, the elders of the Imperial Council were still arguing with the Aetherion Federation over where Ms. Reyes should be placed.

“No matter how the elders of the Imperial Council argued, the Aetherion Federation refused to budge. They absolutely did not agree to let Ms. Reyes go to the Aetherion Empire.

“We can understand that. After all, back then, the Aetherion Empire also opposed Ms. Graham being placed under the Aetherion Federation.”

Hearing Ryker say that, Lexie asked, confused, “If Ms. Reyes is placed under the Aetherion Empire, isn’t that a good thing? So why the long face, Ryker?”

Hearing Lexie’s question, Ryker let out a helpless, bitter smile. “Lex, you saw Ms. Reyes for yourself at the party last night. What do you think of her?”

Lexie answered, “What do I think? Well, Ms. Reyes is incredibly beautiful. It’s not just her looks–she gives off a quiet, graceful vibe. I think Ms. Reyes is flawless in any way possible.”

Ryker replied, “Flawless? You’re not the only one who thinks that. Everyone feels the same way.”

Hearing Ryker’s wry laugh, Lexie asked in confusion, “Ryker, what exactly happened? Can you just tell me straight?”

At that, Ryker took a deep breath, then spoke seriously, “Lex, we were shocked when the Aetherion Federation agreed to hand Ms. Reyes over to the Aetherion Empire.

“But since they agreed to send such a precious female like her to us, what reason would we have to be upset?

“This morning, when Prince Nelson brought Ms. Reyes over, all her physical tests went smoothly. After the tests, the Aetherion Empire and the Aetherion Federation signed a pile of treaties to ensure Ms. Reyes‘ safety.

“When we finished signing, one of our warriors, whose beast form is a vulture, delivered fruit to Ms. Reyes. After that, his expression turned grim. Honestly, he looked like he’d just seen a ghost.”

“What happened?” Lexie asked, puzzled at Ryker’s gloomy expression.

Lexie asked, “What? How is that possible? How could there be the smell of rotting flesh on Ms. Reyes?

“Besides, she’s immune to the Clyssia Virus. And the Aetherion Federation’s Crown Prince even said they could use her genes to produce females immune to the virus.

“Ms. Reyes is so precious. How could she be dying already? And how could there be the smell of rotting flesh on her?”

Hearing Lexie’s confusion, Ryker let out a long sigh. “Lex, we discussed this with Marshal Drake. Perhaps Ms. Reyes‘ appearance is a trap set for us by Prince Nelson.

“You have to understand, according to the agreement, if Ms. Reyes dies here in the Aetherion Empire, especially from illness, the Aetherion Empire won’t just bear the blame for her death.

“It will also anger the Aetherion Federation, cost us a huge sum in compensation, and could even spark a war between the two nations.

Ryker said, “Lex, you have the ability to heal beastmen’s gene disease. Would you spend a few days with Ms. Reyes? Maybe with your power, you can help her get better.”

Lexie asked, “You want me to go save her?”
