When Lexie pushed open a door and saw the treatinent pod displayed before her, her eyes lit up.

She thought. There it is. The treatment pod I’ve been trying so hard to find is right in front of me. Looks like my terminal illness might actually be healed.’

Lexie glanced back at Amya, who was lying behind her. After a brief hesitation, Lexie steadied herself and turned toward the treatment pod.

Lexie thought, Opportunities like this don’t come twice. If I wan to survive, I have to hold onto this chance!

But just as she reached the treatment pod, a sweet voice sounded behind her. Miss, what are you trying to do?

Oh my goodness.Lexie turned around instinctively at the melodious voice and saw Amya standing behind her, though had no idea when Amya had gotten up and come over.

Amya, wwhen did you wake up?Lexie asked nervously, staring at Amya’s sleepy expression.

Amya replied, I woke up when you pushed this door open.

Oh, I see. Then, Ms. Reyes, do you need something to eat? I can go get it for you right now.

I don’t want to eat. This part of my body feels horrible. If I eat anything now, I probably won’t be able to digest it anyway.”

Amya pointed to her stomach. Lexie saw the discomfort on Amya’s face.

After a moment of thought, Lexie took out her small medical device and asked gently, Ms. Reyes, I have a medical device here. It can help ease the pain. Come here, and I’ll treat you with it.

Amya looked at the medical device in Lexie’s hand and shook her head seriously, giving a light, careless laugh. It’s useless. I won’t live much longer anyway. A small medical device like that does nothing for someone like me.

Hearing that, Lexie was stunned. She stepped closer, studying Amya’s stunning face, and asked anxiously, Amya, do you have some kind of illness? Tell me. When Dr. Arthur Cole comes back, he’ll definitely be able to save you.

Dr. Cole is the best doctor in the entire interstellar. His skills are incredible, and he’ll definitely cure your illness.

Amya asked, Your name is Lexie, right?

Lexie nodded. Yes, that’s right.

Can I call you Lex?

Of course, you can.

Lexie couldn’t bring herself to refuse when she looked at the breathtakingly beautiful Amya and met her expectant gaze. Amya muttered, Lex, I won’t live much longer. I know about Dr. Cole, the doctor you mentioned, but he can’t save me. However, even though he can’t help me, he can easily cure your disease.

Lexie asked, My disease? Ms. Reyes, what exactly are you talking about? I’m a female bot. II can’t get sick.

Meeting the gaze Amya was giving her, Lexie saw the clear understanding in Amya’s eyes. Under that knowing look, Lexie instinctively stepped back, startled.

Amya said, Lex, you really don’t have to be afraid of me. I only have two months to live, and one of them has already passed, so I won’t last much longer.

Lex, die moment I first saw you at the party yesterday, I could dearly sense the aura on younatural, dear, comforting, full of genuine vitality. I’m nothing like that. I was grown inside a life god and raised in nutrient fluid.

Your memories came from experiences you personally lived though, but I’m different. My memories were forcibly implanted into my mind by someone else.

I was created on purpose as a tool meant to be used for framing others, and my life was as short as that of a mayfly.

My first month was spent surviving one surgery after another of the operating table. As for my last month, I would watch myself die day by day in someone else’s schemes, watching my body decay and rot.

In another month. I would die. And when that happens, everyone will react exactly the way my master planned, leading to

riots and war.

When the war between the Aetherion Empire and the Aetherion Federation truly broke out, the Aetherion Interstellar Zone would cease to exist.

Lex, my master is a lunatic. He thinks his own life has lost its meaning, so he wants to drag everyone down with him about to die, but I don’t want to.

I haven’t even had the chance to see the outside world, or found out what human food actually tastes like. I’ve never wor.. all those beautiful dresses, or known what it feels like to be loved just like a real human.

I’ve never experienced any of it. I don’t want to die, but my life is created by someone else. I won’t live long, but Lex, I want you to live a little longer, and then a little longer after that.

Can you live long for me, and make up for all the things I missed out on?

Hearing Amya say all of that and sensing the sorrow coming off her, Lexie felt terribly sorry for Amya.

However, there was still something Lexie needed to ask. Ms. Reyes, wwhy are you telling me all this?she muttered.

Amya replied, Because you are a real female, and I’m not. I’m a man.made tool.”

Hhow did you know I’m a real female?Lexie asked.

Amya said, By your aura, your gaze, and your eyes when you look at me. Lex, when you look at me, there’s not just curiosity, but real warmth in your eyes.

I can tell you mean it when you say I’m pretty, not like those beastmen who only think about possessing me, competing for me, treating me as a tool to gain benefits.

Yesterday at the party, Prince Nelson already suspected your identity, but fortunately, I covered for you. Lex, don’t let anyone discover who you really are. Once they find out, they will hurt you.”

Hearing all that from Amya, Lexie felt both touched and anxious. On one hand, Lexie was touched because Amya, meeting her for the first time and already in a tough situation, treated Lexie with such kindness.

On the other hand, Lexie felt anxious because she didn’t know whether Amya’s words were genuine. Lexie thought, Does Ms. Reyes really care about me, or was she told to say this?

If it’s genuine, that’s wonderful. But if someone instructed Ms. Reyes to say this, does that mean my identity’s already been exposed?

The thought made Lexie’s heart pound with tension. Just as Lexie’s anxiety peaked, Amya walked up to her. Before Lexie could react, Amya held her hand.

Amya said, Lex, you’re sick. You need treatment fast. If you delay any longer, your illness will really kill you.

Before she could finish, Anya took a more advanced medical device from her storage space and placed it in an inner room. Tex, use this medical device. Just lie in there for a day, and your illness will be cured.

Once you’re healed, you can live happily ever after, Lex, come with me. I’ll help you lie down in there.

Hearing this, Lexic looked at the treatment pod before her and explicably felt a strong resistance toward it.

Yet somehow, Amya’s strength was overwhelming. Not only that her voice carried a strange pull, something almost hypnotic, and it left Lexie moving like a puppet as Amya guided her toward the treatment pod.

With Amya supporting her, Lexic eventually lay down inside the treatment pod.
