Chapter 31

The door of the treatment pod slowly closed, and the lights inside turned on. Lexie felt as if she were wrapped in a warm. embrace. Soft music came through her cars and eased the tension that had been gripping her.
With the gentle music around her, Lexic instinctively turned her head to look at Amya standing outside the treatment pod.
The moment their eyes met, Lexie noticed an unreadable, puzzling smile on Amya’s face. Yet after just a second, that smile became sweet again.
Lexie didn’t know what was happening, or if it was the treatmen pod itself creating some kind of soothing haze, but within moments Lexie felt her eyelids growing impossibly heavy.
So, wrapped in the soft music, Lexie eventually closed her eyes and drifted into a deep sleep. Lexie had no idea that the moment she lost consciousness, the sweetness on Amya’s face had already darkened into something terrifying.
Amya tilted her head like a puppet, moving her body in a mechanical way as she circled around the treatment pod. “This body is nice. I want it. Can I have it?”
In the silent room, no one was there to answer Amya’s question. So, she kept circling the treatment pod, round a never showing a hint of exhaustion. Amya’s eyes stayed fixed on Lexie’s face, as if trying to see something in it.
Amya kept circling the treatment pod like this for a long time. Then, all at once, she stopped.
She stood in front of the treatment pod and began to cry quietly, “Why did you revive me? Why did you give me hope? I didn’t want to be revived, but why did you revive me against my will?
“You gave me hope just to make me lose it again so quickly. You’re truly cruel.
“I can’t live any longer, so why can she? Her soul is so strong that I can’t take her body. Lex, I don’t want to be the villain. I just can’t accept it. I really can’t.”
Amya’s crying was muffled in the room, and after a long while, the treatment pod holding Lexie began to flash on its own.
Amya wondered, ‘What is going on?‘ She suddenly yelled, “What are you doing? You’re collecting her data. Are you trying to do something bad? I’m warning you, I won’t let you do something like that. You cannot do that.”
Staring at the treatment pod that kept flashing, Amya seemed to realize something, and she quickly found a connection port and yanked it out.
The moment that port was pulled, the treatment pod settled down, leaving only the warm light shining over Lexie as she lay inside it.

In a dimly lit room, a handsome man with a brooding, oppressive aura watched the transmission feed that had been cut off. He slammed the table in anger and spoke in an icy tone, “Amya, how dare you betray me?”
Nelson, Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation, stared at the interrupted data feed, and he looked as if he was about to lose his mind.
He thought, ‘What happened? How did Amya dare to go against my command and cut off the data transmission?” Consumed by rage, Nelson looked at the data that had been captured before the interruption.
He turned to face the busy people behind him and said in a low voice, “Are you able to confirm whether that female bot named Lexie is actually a real female from the data that came through earlier?”

Someone answered. Prince Nelson, the data was cut right at the tart. We have no way to determine whether that female bot Hamed Lexic is a real female. However, Your Highness, you can orce Amya to obey your command and reconnect the data
Nelson roared, “If I could force Amnya to obey my command, she wouldn’t have cut off the data transmission just now. That damned android Amya. I created her, yet she dared to betray me
As Nelson exploded with anger, one of his hands instantly shifted into a pitch black claw with sharp, curved nails.
Still consumed by fury, Nelson slammed that claw against the incubation pod beside him. In the next second, the pod filled with nutrient fluid shattered under the blow
When the nutrient fluid spilled across the floor, the android that had been growing inside it crashed down with it. She was a female android whose features resembled Amya’s, just as beautiful and just as striking.
But as the fluid streamed out and the incubation pod lay broken her body twitched faintly for a brief moment before she died.
All around Nelson, countless incubation pods filled with nutrient fluid stood in rows. Each one held a sleeping android
These androids had grown in nutrient fluid, and from the moment they were born, they were forced to receive thoughts and consciousness. Androids raised this way had only two months of life.
During the first month, they worked hard to adapt to the world. In the second month, when they finally believed they were just like normal people, they had no choice but to face the arrival of death. Amya was one of them.
Nelson looked around. He had worked tirelessly, hoping to bring females back to life. But after all his efforts, all he produced were useless androids like these. Their lives were short, and they had no ability to calm beastmen’s gene disease.
“A bunch of worthless, lifeless trash. What good are you to me? Useless.” With rage twisting his expression, Nelson lashed out, his hand smashing wildly through the vast laboratory.
It took him only a short while to smash countless incubation pods and end the lives of many androids.
After his rampage, Nelson killed a ton of androids. Once he cooled off a little, Nelson turned and walked toward the detector. Standing before it, he used the micro_monitor to watch Lexie lying inside the treatment pod.
The more Nelson looked, the more convinced he became that this Lexie was not a female bot at all but a real female.
Nelson asked, “Has that female bot released on the Interstellar Net been found? The one that can cure beastification in beastmen’s heads?”
Someone replied, “No, Your Highness. That female bot’s face was blurred, and all her personal information was encrypted. No matter how our people searched, they couldn’t find the female bot who could cure head beastification.”
At that, Nelson’s expression grew frighteningly grim. His emotions kept spiraling out of control. Whenever things failed to go his way, he couldn’t stop himself from getting mad and lashing out.
Not only that, but his body was beastifying at a rapid rate, and his gene disease was becoming more severe. If Nelson couldn’t find a way to cure his gene disease, he would certainly die.
Nelson thought, ‘I am the Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation. I don’t want to die. I have a bright future, great power, more wealth than I can ever spend, and so much life ahead of me to waste as I please.
‘But because of this gene disease, I am dying. If I can’t survive, then I’ll let the world die with me.’
As that thought crossed his mind, Nelson’s eyes grew cold, a dangerous glint flashing in them. He stormed back to his bedroom and headed straight for the bathroom. The bathroom was enormous. It was more like a swimming pool than a regular bathroom.
