Austin sul. Lex, I’ll let Ms. Reyes die naturally. But you slept at her place for an entire day, and we don’t know if she did anything to you. How about this? Let Dr. Cole run a checkup on you, alright?

Lexie shook her head. No need. I feel perfectly fine, so there’s no reason to check. I don’t want to trouble Dr. Cole

After she refused. Arthur still couldn’t bring himself to relax. Lex, you slept at Amya’s place for a whole day. I’m worried she might have done something to you.

For your own safety, it’s better if I run some tests on you. You have to understand that you’re a high.tier female bot.

If Ms. Reyes tampered with you in any way, she could ruin your affinity ability and leave you unable to cure beastmen’s gene disease ever again. So, Lex, let me check up on you, okay?

Hearing Arthur say that, Lexie hesitated. But she was afraid that Arthur examined her, they would discover she was a real female.

In the past few days, ever since Amya showed up, the beastmen out there had gone completely crazy. It wasn’t just the posters, interviews, or the Amya.themed dolls. Whether online or offline, every beastman was enthusiastically talking about

Amya.

They talked about Amya’s figure and her looks. They gossiped about who she might end up with in the future or, give. Amya’s rare and noble identity, how many beastmen she would choose to be with and make her partners.

After all, Amya was the only female in the entire Aetherion Interstellar Zone. As the only one, it was natural for her to choose several partners.

Besides, that was exactly what these beastmen hoped for. They figured that if Amya picked several partners, maybe they’d be the lucky ones she chose. That would be like hitting the jackpot for them.

Amya’s appearance had already shown Lexie just how obsessed the beastmen in this world were with females.

Lexie thought, What if they found out I’m not actually a high.tier female bot, but a real female? How would they treat me?

Would it be like what they’re doing with Ms. Reyes, keeping me safe in a tall castle, picking several partners for me, making me bear children for them?

Thinking about it made Lexie’s heart race. She didn’t know how she would face it if that day ever came.

and

Lexie thought, But if I don’t let Dr. Cole check me, how will I know my current physical condition? What if Ms. Reyes really did something to me? I just managed to cure my terminal illness.

Honestly, Lexie really didn’t want to die now. She felt torn, not knowing what to do.

Seeing her hesitation, Arthur asked in puzzlement, Lex, what’s wrong? Is something bothering you? Just tell me. Maybe I can help.”

Lexie said, Dr. Cole, do you have some kind of testing device I could use to check myself? If there’s really something wrong with me, then I’ll come to you, okay?

Arthur replied, But Lex, you can’t read. Even if you use the device and get the results, you won’t know what it says.”

Hearing that, Lexie fell silent. She thought, He’s right. I traveled here from another world. The only reason I can understand the language of this world is because of its advanced technology

I can understand what people say now, but I don’t recognize a single written word in this world. Even though I got educated, I’m nothing but a complete illiterate here.

I can’t read the words on the device, so I have no way of knowing the results. So

Thinking about it for a long while, Lexie finally looked at Arthur hesitantly and said, Dr. Cole, there’s something I want to discuss with you.”

Go ahead, Lex,” Arthur replied.

Can we talk somewhere in the corner in private?

In private?

Arthur didn’t understand exactly what Lexie wanted to say. But seeing the hopeful look in her eyes, he agreed to her request and led her to a corner.

As Austin watched Lexie and Arthur walk side by side into the corner, his brows immediately furrowed.

Austin didn’t know why, but seeing Lex and Arthur act so chummy made Austin feel extremely uncomfortable. Now that Austin saw them standing so close together, whispering, his mood immediately soured.

Austin thought, What could Lex and Arthur be whispering about that I’m not supposed to know? And why are they standing so close together?

Seeing Lexie lean toward Arthur’s ear to whisper, Austin inexplicably felt a surge of irritation toward Arthur.

Austin snorted inwardly, Dr. Cole is a grown beastman, yet he acts all shy and fussy. Ugh. What kind of beastman is that

While Austin was silently complaining about Arthur, Arthur himself wasn’t feeling any better.

Lexie was standing extremely close to Arthur. Although he thought she was just a female bot, her tier was far too high.

No matter how much Arthur tried to convince himself that Lexie was just a hightier female bot and not a real female, the sweet fragrance lingering around her made his heart race and his cheeks flush slightly.

Arthur took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but Lexie’s soft voice and the subtle scent surrounding her made him feel slightly dizzy.

Arthur shook himself back to reality. He knew this was not the time for these feelings. Lexie must have come to him for something important.

Arthur lowered his voice and asked, Lex, what exactly do you want to tell me? Is it about Marshal Drake?

Kind of, but not really,Lexie replied. Dr. Cole, can you help me keep a secret?

A secret? Lex, would anyone get hurt if I keep it for you?

No, definitely not. Dr. Cole, it’s just a personal matter of mine. It wouldn’t harm anyone.

Is that so? Then tell me. What do you want me to help you with?

When you finish checking me later, can you not tell anyone about the results?

Not even Marshal Drake? He’s your master now. I think he has the right to know your condition.

No, you can’t tell him. Dr. Cole, just help me this once, please. I’m really not asking for much, and I promise I would never hurt anyone or affect anyone else.

Hearing that, and meeting the pleading look in her eyes, Arthur hesitated for a long moment. In the end, he still agreed.
