Chapter 43

Seeing Lexie was seated on his beast form, Lorey let out a low growl and raced forward with her. As he departed, t young men followed closely behind, sprinting toward the military academy.

Lorey ran extremely fast. Just as Lexie was about to be blown away by the oncoming wind, their group finally reached academy.

Dizzy and disoriented, Lexie climbed down from Lorey’s back and immediately rushed to the side to vomit violently.

She vomited for a long time, emptying her stomach completely, before finally feeling a little better.

She thought, ‘Who said riding a lion is cool and majestic? Once I find out who it was, I’ll make them experience this thrill that’s a thousand times more intense than a roller coaster.‘

That ride had felt a million times more thrilling than any roller coaster.

Lexie leaned against the wall, struggling to stand up. Her face was as pale as paper, and her eyes were somewhat unfocused from the jolting.

Seeing Lexie in such distress, Lorey and the other young men hurried to her side, unable to hide their concern. Lorey asked worriedly, “Hill, are you okay?”

Lexie shot him a sharp glare and snapped, “I’m almost dizzy from your jolting.”

She went on, “Lorey, I know you’re in a hurry, but you don’t have to rush this much. You ran so fast that I felt like a kite, almost floating up to the sky. If I hadn’t held on tight just now, I definitely would have been thrown off.”

Faced with Lexie’s scolding, Lorey looked embarrassed and said, “Hill, I’m sorry. I–I was just a little too anxious.”

Hearing Lorey’s apology and seeing his chagrined expression, Lexie let out a long sigh and said helplessly, “Alright, let’s drop it. Let’s go in. Your instructor is still waiting for me to save him.”

With that, she turned and walked into the academy. Seeing that Lexie wasn’t angry anymore, Lorey and the others quickly followed her inside.

As soon as she stepped into the academy, Lexie froze at the sight of collapsed buildings, uprooted trees, and all kinds of damaged mechas. She thought, ‘What happened here? How did it become like this?‘

Just a few days ago, when she had visited, the academy’s grounds had been clean and tidy, bu ruin. Everywhere was in chaos, with not even a clear place to step.

Seeing all this, Lexie couldn’t help frowning. “Lorey, why has your school turned into such a mess?”

“It was our instructor, Serenus White. He suddenly beastified, and his sanity vanished in an instant–he became a true beast. Mr. White went on a rampage just now, and it took many people from our school working together to trap him.” Lorey explained.

He continued, “Hill, please hurry and save Mr. White.”

“Okay, let’s roll.” As she spoke, Lexie grabbed Lorey’s hand and headed toward the depths of the academy.

She had been here not long ago, but now that clean and beautiful campus lay in shambles. Lexie couldn’t help wondering, What does Serenus‘ beast form look like? How could he cause so much damage when he went crazy?‘

Just as Lexie was feeling puzzled, she followed Lorey and the others through a series of twists and turns, finally arriving at an open area behind the school.

“Is that a ball?” Lexie craned her neck, lookin

at the wriggling mass and asking in confusion, tilting her head

Lorey said, “That’s Mr. White. His beast form is a mutated giant anaconda–his size becomes extremely large after

beastification. Right now, the school is spraying sedatives into his isolation chamber to prevent him from hurting anyone if he regains consciousness.”

Lexie exclaimed in shock, “That’s such a smaller than one of his scales.”

She went on, “What if he accidentally crushes me a little when I touch him? I’ll definitely be squashed into meat paste. Lorey, I’m sorry. I don’t think I can help you with

this.”

She would help Lorey out of friendship, but she wasn’t willing to sacrifice herself to save someone.

Her terminal illness had just been cured, and her health had only recently improved thanks to Arthur’s careful care. She had finally gotten a second chance at life–she wasn’t going to waste her precious life here.

Thinking this, Lexie turned to leave.

Hearing Lexie’s words and seeing her turn to go, Lorey quickly spread his arms and blocked her path.

Lorey pleaded, “Hill, I know this is asking a lot of you. But we really have no other choice.

“Mr. White is a good man. His power is too strong, and without a female to help him heal his beastified body, it’s accumulated over time.

“That’s why Mr. White suddenly became beastified. If you don’t help him, he really will die.”

Lexie said, “But if I try to save him, I might die. Lorey, I’m not a saint; I can’t do something as selfless as sacrificing myself for others. Please, let me leave.”

“Besides, Mr. White is so big. Even if I stroke him until my hands break, he won’t get better.”

“I’m sorry to disappoint you. I’ve been busy all morning, and I’m starving. I’ll head back first–you guys take your time.”

With that, Lexie pushed past Lorey, who was blocking her, and tried to leave.

“Hill, I’ll give you five million starcoins. Please save Mr. White.” Lorey begged.

“It’s not about the money. I really can’t do it,” Lexie said.

“Ten million starcoins? Will that work?” Lorey asked.

Lexie said, “Lorey, my abilities are limited. I can’t save Mr. White. You should find someone more capable.”

After speaking, Lexie lifted her foot to leave.

“I’ll give you one hundred million starcoins. Please save Mr. White–will you?” Lorey quickly said.

At this, Lexie stopped.

“How about this, Hill? If you save Mr. White, I’ll give you one billion starcoins. Is that okay?” Lorey said.

“Well, saving a life is urgent. I’m not a great humanitarian, but I can’t just stand by and watch someone die. Besides, this big
