Perhaps it was because there were no females in this world that the beastmen here never bothered to collect pearls. In just a short while, Lexie had already fished a handful of beautiful pearls out of the shells.
She carefully tucked the pearls into her pocket. She thought that once they got back later, she would definitely ask the housekeeping robot to turn these pearls into gorgeous jewelry, so she could wear different pieces every day.
Just as Lexie was daydreaming about all the designs she could turn those pearls into, a splash from the sea made her glance quickly in that direction.
At one look, she saw William emerging from the water, his hair dripping wet, and dragging something with both hands.
By the time he slowly walked ashore, Lexie finally got a clear view of what he was hauling.
It was a shell almost as big as a house. The shell looked enormous, so much so that even the burly William seemed small and slender when he stood next to it.
Most importantly, if the shell was this ridiculously large, the pearl inside it must be huge too. At the thought of that, Lexie’s heart immediately raced with excitement.
When William dragged the shell onto the sand, Lexie wasted no time rushing over to run her hands all over its surface.
The exterior of this giant shell was smooth and clean, with a plain white base. Yet under the sunlight, it glowed with a faint, iridescent shimmer.
At first glance, it looked just like a colorful castle from a fairy tale, so beautiful that it was impossible to look
away.
Watching Lexie’s face light up with pure delight, William patted the shell, asking proudly, “Well? Do it?”

“I love it! I love it so much! Liam, where on earth did you find such a massive shell?” Lexie exclaimed, her voice brimming with excitement.
“Liam, if the shell is this big, the pearl inside must be gigantic. It has to be at least this big,” Lexie said, gesturing with her hands to show the size she imagined. Her eyes were sparkling with sheer joy.
“It’s probably even bigger than you’re gesturing. Let me pry the shell open for you, then we can see just how large that pearl really is,” William said.
His hands instantly morphed into sharp claws. One single swipe from him would surely smash the shell to pieces.
“Wait a second. Don’t break the shell. We can take it home later, and I’ll use it as a bed,” Lexie said.
“Alright, I’ll be careful,” William replied. He shifted his claws back into his hands, then carefully searched for a
With heute strength, he nried the giant shell open bit by bit.

The moment the shell parted, Lexic leaned right in to the gap, waiting eagerly to see if there was a huge pearl inside.
However, when she got a clear look at what was lying inside, she froze completely. There was no pearl in the shell, but a stunning black–tailed Mermaid.
“A fish…” she murmured in disbelief.
“What fish?” William asked.
He pried the shell open fully, then followed Lexie’s gaze to look inside. His face instantly fell. It was Kaelen Tideborne, the Merman King. He was the very last person William wanted to run into right now.
William thought, ‘I can’t afford to mess with this guy. I have to throw him back into the sea before he regains full consciousness. With that thought, William exerted all his strength to snap the shell shut again.
But he was too rough, and the shell cracked cleanly into two halves on the spot. The violent jolt roused the Mermaid from his slumber in an instant.
The moment the Mermaid opened his eyes, Lexie caught sight of his iridescent, multicolored gaze. She widened her eyes in shock.
To better pass herself off as a Mermaid, Lexie had once heard Arthur say that Mermaids were renowned for their unparalleled beauty across the Aetherion Interstellar Zone.
She had seen pictures and videos of Mermaids before, but those cold, lifeless images were nothing compared to the real thing.
This Mermaid had exquisitely sculpted features, and his skin was as clear and translucent as crystal. Moreover, his obsidian–black tail shimmered with a dazzling glow under the sunlight.
At that moment, Lexie felt as if she was staring at a real–life fairy. She stood there, transfixed by the Mermaid, and did not even notice when William moved to stand beside her.
Seeing how captivated Lexie was, William could not help but wave a hand in front of her eyes. “Hill, have you had enough staring?”
Lexie finally snapped out of her daze. She swallowed hard, still gazing at the Mermaid with a dumbstruck expression.
No woman could keep her cool in the presence of such breathtaking handsomeness.
Ever since she had arrived in this world, she had grown used to seeing handsome men. Lexie had thought she was immune to good looks by now, but the sight of this Mermaid made her heart race uncontrollably.
While Lexie stood there, completely starstruck by the black–tailed Mermaid, William realized with a jolt that the Mermaid was awake. He began to tremble with fear.
He thought, ‘For the Beast God’s sake, I only went into the sea to fetch a shell. How did I end up hauling him out instead? I have the worst luck imaginable.’

Faced with Lexie’s lovestruck gaze and William’s utterly dejected expression, the newly awakened Kaelen let out a soft chuckle. That single smile was so breathtakingly beautiful that it stole Lexie’s breath away on the
spot.
When Kaelen saw the silly grin on Lexie’s face, he twitched his nose slightly. A moment later, he caught a whiff of an enticing scent.
Kaelen held out a hand toward Lexie, his voice soft and melodious, “Come here.”
Kaelen’s voice was as rich and smooth as a cello. The moment his words reached Lexie’s ears, that enchanting tone ensnared her mind completely.
Entranced by the beautiful voice and seeing the hand Kaelen held out to her, Lexie lost all sense of reason. She walked straight toward him, then placed her hand in his obediently.
