Chapter 63
With Arthur backing her up, Lexic breezed through the registration process at school.
Lexic had only been in her dorm room for half an hour.
The dorm had four bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. Each bedroom had its own bathroom.
Maybe it was thanks to Arthur, but Lexie’s room had the best location, and the decor was easily the nicest.
As for William, he was staying in the room next to Lexie’s. The two rooms across the hall were still empty, and no one knew who would be moving in.
Lexie couldn’t care less about who was moving in. She was already stressing out about the upcoming freshman boot camp.
Arthur never said a word about having to go through freshman boot camp when she signed up.
With her frail body and the beastmen’s freakish strength, she figured she’d be lucky to make it out of three months of training in one piece.
Even though she was stressing out, Lexie still had to get herself ready for the freshman boot camp.
Just as she was getting her stuff together, a heated argument erupted outside her door, making her freeze mid–action. She couldn’t resist cracking the door open just a sliver to sneak a peek at what was going on.
No
way
she was missing this. Scenes like this were rare, and it’d be a shame to miss out on the show.
As Lexie peeked out through the crack in the door, she saw a huge white wolf suddenly leap at a boy standing right in front of it.
The wolf was just about to bite the boy when Lexie couldn’t help but yell out. “Look out!”
Her shout instantly grabbed the wolf’s attention, and just like that, it switched targets, charging right at her.
Seeing the massive wolf about to pounce, Lexie panicked and shut the door, not daring to look back.
She’d barely closed it when the wolf’s paw smashed through, splintering the door to pieces.
Lexie couldn’t help but scream, “Ah…”
Seeing the broken door and the wolf about to come crashing in, she was so terrified she screamed at the top of her lungs.
Just when Lexie thought she was doomed, someone grabbed the wolf by the tail, stopping it dead in its tracks right at her doorway.
She glanced outside and saw it was William.
William had the wolf’s tail clutched in one hand, shooting Lexie a reassuring grin.

“Hill, don’t sweat it. I’ll take care of this damn wolf,” William said.

With one swift motion, he yanked the wolf out of the doorway. While the white wolf was still thrashing about. William’s list crashed down on its head.
That one punch knocked the wolf out cold,
William glanced at the unconscious wolf and gave a contemptuous sneer. “Pathetic!”
Seeing the wolf knocked out cold, Lexie let out a deep, relieved sigh. She stepped through the shattered door. and walked over to the wolf.
She asked, “William, is he a beastman?”
Someone replied, “Yeah, he’s the student council president and the top student at our school, Samuel Tucker.
“He always acted like such a gentleman, but who would’ve thought he’d beastify right on the first day of school?
“Looks like the Tucker family’s genius heir is finished. Turning into this kind of beast, even Arthur probably can’t pull him back now.
“What a shame. I never even got to test myself against him. Looks like he’s done for before I had the chance.
“Tsk, tsk, such a pity.”
Hearing that sympathetic tone, Lexie glanced over at the speaker.
He had short hair and striking, cool features, rocking a tailored suit that made him stand out from the crowd.
His eyes held a hint of regret as he looked at Samuel, like he was genuinely bummed about losing a worthy rival.
Lexie couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Who’d have guessed a guy who seemed so icy, but had a hint of softness, would actually care about his rival?‘
She bit her lip, staring at the knocked–out wolf, feeling something she couldn’t quite name bubbling up inside.
“William, is he really done for?” Lexie asked, her voice soft and sad.
She just couldn’t believe a beastman could be gone so suddenly, just like that.
William let out a quiet sigh, his eyes full of mixed emotions as he looked at the unconscious wolf–Samuel.
He shook his head slowly, sounding a little helpless. “Hill, I’m afraid so. When a beastman beastifies this much, there’s nothing a regular doctor can do.”
Lexie’s eyes clouded with sadness. She bowed her head in silence, unable to shake the feeling of pity for Samuel.

But just then, a thought flashed through her mind, and she looked up sharply at William.
“William, do you think I can save him?” Lexie asked, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
“You?” Kaelen blinked.
“Yeah. Do you really think I can save him?”
William replied, “Well, Lex, you might as well try. His gene disease’s already this bad, so honestly, the chances of curing him are pretty slim.
“Hill, just treat it as a last–ditch effort. Maybe you’ll pull off a miracle. Whether he makes it or not, it’s all up to
luck now.”
Hearing William say that, Lexie crouched down in front of the wolf and gave his head a few vigorous rubs.
Seeing Lexie rubbing the wolf’s head like that, the short–haired boy standing off to the side looked puzzled and asked, “Hey, are you getting handsy with Samuel while he’s knocked out?”
Lexie protested, “What? Me, getting handsy with him? No way! I’m trying to save him, okay? Why would you even say that?
“Come on, we’re both beastmen. Why would I do that to another beastman? That’d be nuts!”
Lexie shot the short–haired boy a baffled look, but Eric Thorne just smirked and fired back with a teasing edge in his voice.
Eric scoffed, “Oh, please! Why wouldn’t you take advantage of him? Samuel’s the student council president. Half the school’s got a crush on him.
“Sure, he’s down for the count right now, but who knows if you’re not just taking advantage while he’s out of it?”
Lexie gave
Eric a look like he was an absolute idiot.
She thought, ‘Honestly, is he for real? I’m literally the only female left in this world. Everyone else is a beastmen. All guys, no exceptions.
‘With so many beastmen jammed into one school, who even cares about crushes? It’s not like two beastmen are gonna suddenly hook up or anything.’
