“Oh, nothing. He just looked pretty cool, so I was just curious,” Lexie said.

The school had two cafeterias: one for nobles and one for commoners. Just from the names, Lexie could already tell the prices were worlds apart.

As Lexie followed Samuel up to the second floor of the noble cafeteria, someone suddenly blocked her way.

She looked up, feeling like she’d seen this guy somewhere before, but his name just wouldn’t come to her.

She asked, “Are you…”

Seeing Lexie didn’t recognize him, Serenus‘ eyes dimmed a bit. He looked at her and spoke softly, “A few days ago, you saved an ancient giant python. That was me. My name is Serenus White.”

“Oh, I remember now. Hi, Mr. White. Weren’t you working at another school? What brings you here?” Lexie asked, a little surprised.

“I’m a special instructor here. I’m the one organizing the freshman boot camp,” Serenus replied.

Lexie tensed up at his words. She glanced up at Serenus‘ stern face. After a moment’s hesitation, she asked, feeling a bit awkward, “Um, Mr. White, my physical fitness isn’t really great.

“Since I saved you that one time, could you maybe cut me some slack during the training?”

“Sure. Hill, add me on Optic Brain. I’ll go easy on you during the training,” Serenus said with a smile.

As he spoke, Serenus offered his Optic Brain for Lexie to scan, gesturing for her to add him.

Lexie was honestly surprised at how easily Serenus agreed to her unreasonable request. She glanced at the Optic Brain he held out, still a bit taken aback,

She just went along with it, still a little stunned, and added Serenus‘ Optic Brain number without really thinking.

When Lexie added Serenus on Optic Brain, his frosty look melted away in an instant.

Serenus, usually the icy prince, flashed a rare smile that totally floored Lexie.

“79 thousand? Are you serious?” Lexie practically shouted, her jaw dropping.

In this world, age basically meant power–the older one was, the more badass they were.

close to her.

But with Arthur watching her like a shadow, Serenus never even got a chance.

With no other options, Serenus had to come to the school as a low–key training coach for freshmen, all just to get near Lexie.

Looking at Lexie’s Optic Brain contact, he knew his mission was finally accomplished.

After dinner, when Lexie got back to her dorm, the door had already been replaced. Just like she’d said, it was cute, sturdy, and looked great.

But what really stood out was how fancy it looked.

That was because the door was studded with gorgeous gemstones. At first glance, it screamed luxury, like some nouveau riche just couldn’t help themselves.

‘This thing is so eye–catching. Isn’t he worried about thieves or something?‘ Lexie thought.

“Samuel, isn’t this door a little too over the top?” Lexie asked.

“Nope. Honestly, it fits you perfectly,” Samuel replied.

“Wait, me?” Lexie blinked.

Lexie watched Samuel walk away, then just stood there in front of the door for a long moment, still a little stunned, before finally pushing it open.

“Wait up, Hill,” Eric called out.

“Yeah? What’s up?” Lexie turned back to him.

Lexie had noticed Eric watching her quietly ever since dinner, and now she couldn’t help but give him a confused look.

“Hill, since we’re sharing a dorm now, wanna add each other on Optic Brain?” Eric suggested.

“Sure. Let’s do it,” Lexie grinned.

Seeing how quickly Lexie agreed to swap contacts, Eric Hill locked his eyes on her face, studying her closely.

When his gaze drifted past her car, his eyes flashed with curiosity.

Eric thought, ‘Is that a disguise mask?

‘A merfolk beastman who can cure beastification completely, rocking the top–tier disguise mask, and even has the giant eagle clan’s heir as a bodyguard?
