After a moment. Samuel was the first to agree. Eric hesitated much longer, and then he looked Lexie up and down with an expression she couldn’t quite read.
“What’s he thinking?‘ she wondered.
Finally, Eric gave in, though he didn’t look happy about it.
Eric said, “Fine. I’ll agree to your terms, and I’ll let you install the bath bomb on me. But I’ve got conditions too before you do it.”
“Let’s hear it,” William said coldly.
“If you want to put oath bombs on us, then you need to have one installed on yourself too. If you trigger ours for no good reason, you die with us. You willing to do that, William?”
“Why wouldn’t I be? If it keeps Lex safe, I’ll do whatever it takes. Installing an oath bomb is nothing.”
Lexie stood there listening to their entire conversation, and her mind went completely blank for a few seconds.
When she realized they were actually serious about this, she quickly stepped between them. “Okay, stop fighting. This whole mess is my fault.
“I have no idea how my mask disappeared this morning, but somehow I ended up revealing my real identity to you. But that’s not the important part here.”
She turned to William and said, “Liam, yes, I need to keep my identity secret, but we don’t need to go around killing people to do it! We can just talk this through like normal people, and everything will be fine.
“Besides, I trust Samuel and Eric. They’re good guys, and they won’t tell anyone who I really am.”
William frowned. “But I don’t trust them, Lex. When there’s enough money on the line, character means nothing.”
Lexie was about to argue when a hand suddenly pressed down on her shoulder.
She turned to look at the hand, and her eyes met a pair of striking purple ones.
“Who are you” Before she could finish, her vision blurred and her body went limp.
Someone caught her before she hit the ground.
William stared at the man who’d appeared out of nowhere in their room. “Who the hell are you? How did you get in here?”
“Me? I’m here to help you idiots. It’s just one secret, and I’m going to make sure it stays that way.” The man’s voice was light and teasing, but his purple eyes were unforgettable–deep and mesmerizing like stars.
His gaze swept across the three men in the room, cold and detached. The moment William, Samuel, and Eric met his eyes, their vision went dark, and their minds turned foggy.
In seconds, all three collapsed to the floor.
The purple–eyed man glanced at them with mild disinterest, then turned and carried Lexie toward her bedroom.
He laid her gently on the bed and studied her face for a long moment.

He looked down at her sleeping face, and this alluring beastman lowered his head. He pressed a gentle kiss try her forehead
“Little female, my name is Christiar. I’m the clan leader of the Nine–Tail Vulpes, and I’m rich. I’m good–looking, and I’m powerful too.
“I know I look pretty rough right now, but this is only temporary. Once my injuries heal, you can rely on me completely. and I promise I’ll take care of everything.
“When that time comes, I’ll protect you so well that you won’t need to hide who you are anymore. No one will dare hurt you.”
He paused, his voice dropping lower. “Little female, remember my name. It’s Christiar. Don’t you dare forget it. If you forget my name, once I recover, I’ll drag you back to my fox den myself
Lexie’s peaceful sleeping face was his only response to the threat.
He reached out and touched her cheek gently, but the moment his hand made contact with her skin, he jerked it back.
“Ugh, she reeks of salted fish. It’s disgusting,” he muttered.
But then, as if to spite himself, Christiar leaned down and kissed her forehead again anyway.
As his lips touched her skin, nine massive tails unfurled behind him and wrapped tightly around both of them where they lay against the bed.
Christiar’s nine fox tails looked absolutely stunning. When they spread out completely, they formed a beautiful purple swirl that caught everyone’s attention.
A sweet fragrance came with them, drifting off Christiar’s body like an invisible barrier. It enveloped Lexie from every angle, replacing all the other scents clinging to her skin.
Once Lexie only carried her own scent, Christiar slowly pulled his tails back.

Christiar sat up slowly and looked at Lexie, who was sleeping on the bed. When he saw her peaceful face, something seemed to cross his mind, and he leaned down to kiss her lips.
The moment their lips met, a purple bead slipped smoothly into Lexie’s stomach.
As the purple bead settled inside her body, a fox–like mark appeared on Lexie’s chest.
“Lex, that stupid merman put his pearl inside you and forced a mate bond on you,” Christiar whispered. “So now I’m putting my fox bead in your body too. It’ll push back against his pearl and protect you.”
He paused and traced a finger along her cheek. “There’s just one side effect–we’ll have a mate bond now too. We’ll be mates.”
“Lex, I don’t care that you’re not pretty,” he continued softly. “If you want to be beautiful, I can help you. We nine–tailed Vulpes are the most gorgeous species in the Aetherion Interstellar Zone. That fish is nothing.”
His voice dropped lower, taking on an edge. “I’m injured right now, so I can’t beat him. But you wait–once I’m healed, I’ll turn Kaelen into fish jerky and make you soup from his skin and bones.”
Christiar’s fingers tightened slightly on her shoulder. “Lex, don’t fall for that merman, okay? When you wake remember one thing–the only person you love is me. Christiar||

He leaned closer, his breath warm against her ear. “Lex loves Christiar. Lex only loves Christiar. You understand that, right? Lex.”
Christiar rubbed his temples as he watched Lexie sleep, exhaustion weighing on him like a physical burden.
His body hadn’t recovered yet, and he’d just used his illusion powers to alter Eric and William’s memories without permission.
On top of that, he’d forced the mate bond between them using his fox pearl, and now his body was completely drained.
He was exhausted.
“Lex, I need to rest now,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. “You’re covered in my scent, and I’ve already disguised your face. Even if you go outside, no one will notice anything different about you.”
He paused, gathering what little strength he had left. “I have to sleep, Lex. But once my body recovers, I’ll take you back to my family and make you my official mate.
“When that day comes, I’ll give you the most spectacular wedding ceremony. I’ll make sure everyone knows that you, Lexie, are my one and only mate, and you’ll spend the rest of your life with me.”
Christiar’s hand trembled as he reached out to touch her cheek. “You have my fox pearl inside you now, Lex. If you’re ever in danger, I’ll sense it immediately, and I’ll come to protect you no matter what.”
His words came faster now, desperate. “Just wait for me, Lex. Give me a chance to recover my strength.
“You’re marked with my scent now, so even if someone suspects your identity later, they won’t dare think you’re a female once they smell me on you. You don’t have to be afraid of anyone discovering your true identity anymore.”
He let out a bitter laugh. “Though honestly, you only have to hide because of me. If my body were at full strength, you wouldn’t need to fear some Crown Prince.
“My family is more powerful than the entire Aetherion Federation. Once I recover, even Nelson will have to bow down and
call me his ancestor.”

Christiar’s
eyes grew heavy, but he tonight to stay conscious a thement longer. Really, Lex, Fin not lying to you. You’re my only mate, and I would never deceive the person I love. Trust me Just wait for me?
Christiar looked at Lexie, lying in bed, and studied her sweet fac. After securing the mask properly on her face, he reluctantly climbed down from the bed and shifted back into his small fox form.
He was exhausted.
The moment Christiar transformed back into a fox, Lexie’s eyes snapped open. She sat up abruptly, staring blankly ahead as she tried to collect her thoughts.
After a long moment, she reached up and touched her face. Something felt off. She scrambled out of bed and rushed to the mirror, her heart pounding.
Relief flooded through her when she saw Hill’s face staring back at her in the reflection.
“What was that dream?‘ she thought, pressing her fingertips against her checks.
In the nightmare, her mask had slipped off, and Samuel and Eric had seen her real face. They’d figured out who she really was. And William had actually considered killing them to protect her identity.
She’d woken up in a panic right before it happened.
Lexie pinched her cheek, reassuring herself that the prosthetic mask was still in place and her secret was safe. But doubt gnawed at her. She needed to be sure.
She smoothed down her clothes and crept to the door, opening it just a crack.
When Lexie slowly pushed the door open and stepped out, her gaze immediately locked with William, Samuel, and Eric standing in the living room.
When Lexie saw the confusion in all three of their eyes, she froze in place.
Samuel and Eric, both looking equally confused, turned around at the same time and stared at Lexie standing off to the side.
The moment their eyes met, Lexie clearly saw confusion, shock, and disbelief written all over Samuel and Eric’s faces.
Eric seemed especially incredulous, and he quickly strode forward several steps until he reached Lexie’s side.
But the moment he got close to her, a sharp and dominating aura hit him like a wave.
That commanding presence felt like an icy blade, and Eric’s footsteps involuntarily faltered.
He lifted his head and studied Lexie’s face carefully. ‘Something about her has changed, he thought.
But when he looked closer, he couldn’t pinpoint what was different.
After examining her thoroughly, Eric could confirm one thing–Lexie was definitely a beastman..
“Whatever I saw in my head when I woke up in the living room must have been a hallucination,‘ he thought.
Lexie’s aura was too sharp and powerful. There was no way she could be an artificial female bot–that was absolutely impossible.
Just as Eric’s furrowed brow began to relax, Samuel stood behind him, staring together.
