He’d only ended up in this outoftheway spot by pure chance. His gene disease was acting up, and with no way to treat it, all he wanted was a quiet place to rest for a bit.

But when he sank to the bottom of the lake to rest, he never imagined Tumblebeast would show up and mess with his rest.

It was that beast being way too noisy that ended up waking him, and that’s how he ran into that female just

now.

Hill Cullen? That female?he wondered.

Hearing the ruckus from afar, the crown prince of the Aetherion Federation let out a scoff.

Hmph! They sure got here quick,he snorted to himself.

But if he actually let these guys catch him, then being crown prince would be a joke.

He cast one last cold look toward the dense forest, then shifted into his beast form and left.

Meanwhile, back at the campsite by the cliff, Lexie, still shaken, was brought back by Tumblebeast. A bunch of her classmates had already climbed up from the bottom of the cliff.

They were sitting by the cliff, resting, but when they saw Lexie looking so shaken, they all stood up and hurried over to her.

Hill, what’s wrong? You look so pale. Did something happen to you?one of them asked.

Yeah! Hill, what’s going on? You and Tumblebeast are all wet. Did something happen?another chimed in.

Seriously, you look awful. Did you run into some kind of strange beast in the forest?someone else asked.

Just tell me what happened! I’ll grab a crew right now, track down that beast, and roast it up to get you back on your feet.

For real, let’s roast it! Hill, say something! Did you run into something weird out there in the forest?

With her classmates all talking at once, Lexie, pale as a ghost, took a while to steady herself before finally speaking, her voice still shaky.

In the forest, I saw a beastman with a snake tail and claws sprouting from his sides.

He was wearing a realistic mask, so I couldn’t see what his real face looked like.

But I spotted the word Federationon the scanner he was holding.

Guys, there’s someone from the Aetherion Federation lurking in that forest. He tried to grab me, but Tumblebeast jumped in and stopped him.

We were no match for that beastman, so Tumblebeast seized the moment and got me out of there.

Guys, hurry! Go find the instructors and tell them to track down that snaketailed guy from the Federation.”

As soon as Lexie finished speaking, the students who’d been goofing off around her instantly sobered faces turning serious before they even realized it.

This was Bolrasai Planet, where the Empire’s military academies were clustered, and it was also a key military base.

Normally, this place was only used for training new cadetsnobody else ever came here.

Unless you had official clearance from the higherups, nobody in their right mind would dare to set foot here.

And how could someone from the Aetherion Federation just show up here out of nowhere?

Just the mention of that snaketailed beastman from the Federation made the mood turn heavy.

Hill, that guy from the Federationcan you describe what he looked like?

Someone moved closer to Lexie, their voice gentle and full of concern as they asked.

Lexie shook her head. I couldn’t really see his face. He was wearing a lifelike mask, and honestly, I was so freaked out I didn’t even have time to pay attention to what he looked like.

But the aura he gave off was seriously dangerous. He grabbed my foot so I couldn’t get away, then smacked Tumblebeast straight into the lake with his tail, and even knocked it out.

That guy from the Federation is insanely strong. And there was something weird about his aura, but I can’t really describe it.

All I know is, he looked seriously dangerous. If you guys are going after him, seriously, make sure you bring the instructors with you.

If you guys can’t handle him, at least with the instructors there, you’ll be a lot safer.

When the instructors who’d just arrived after hearing the news listened to Lexie, they exchanged glances. After getting the exact location from her, they marched off into the woods together.

But before heading out, Serenus told William, who’d just shown up, to shift into his beast form and out of there, fast.

Serenus said he’d come find them in the dorm when he finished up.

Seeing how grim Serenus looked, William didn’t dare waste a second. He scooped up Lexie, grabbed Tumblebeast with his claws, and shot off toward the academy as fast as he could.

Once Lexie was out of sight, Serenus wasted no time and dashed straight for the forest. By the time they got to the lake, the place was already empty.

But as he picked up a barelythere, elusive scent lingering in the air, Serenus’s gaze turned icy and serious.

That’s the scent only the Federation royals have,he thought.

His beast form was an ancient giant pythonmassive, insanely strong, and a total powerhouse in a fight. But what really made him stand out was that he’d lived for ages.

The Federation royalsbeast form was also a snake, but theirs was a mutated fourclawed snake. These things weren’t big, but they could strike in a flash.

Still, the gap between them was massive.

Even though both the ancient giant python and the mutated fourclawed snake were snakes, the vibe they gave off couldn’t be more different.

The ancient giant python had this ancient, commanding vibe, while the mutated fourclawed snake just oozed this creepy, cold energy.

With both of their beast forms being snakes, there was no way Serenus could miss that scentit was unmistakable to him.

By now, Serenus already had his suspicions. He glanced around, searching the area for any hint or clue that might have been left behind.

But unfortunately, the other guy hadn’t left even the faintest trace, leaving him with absolutely nothing to go

  1. on.

But clue or no clue, the fact that a Federation royal had just shown up here meant one thingthey’d already made their way into the Empire’s military academy.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to show up here at all.

That meant this place wasn’t safe anymore, and sticking around was out of the question.

Once he got back, he’d need to get Lexie out of here ASAP.

After telling the others to keep searching for the Federation intruder who’d snuck into the freshman training grounds, Serenus turned and hurried back.

On the way, he quickly updated Arthur on everything that had happened and told him what he planned to do

next.

He was going to get Lexie out of here, and fast.

They were making a beeline for his home planet, Lyson.

When Arthur heard what had happened to Lexie, his expression instantly grew anxious.

He put down whatever he was working on and said he was coming to the academy to get Lexie himself.

After hearing that, Serenus found a quiet spothe couldn’t hold back his question.

Arthur, can I ask you something?Serenus asked.
