The Lies Behind Her Marriage novel Chapter 203

Noelle Rowan.

“Thanks for dropping me off,” Serena said, kissing Nathaniel’s cheek. “You are going to take the kids to playgroup?”

“Mmmm,” he said, pulling Serena closer for another kiss.

A chuckle escaped her lips. She tried to push him away, but the man insisted.

They shared two quick pecks before Nathaniel said, “After the playgroup, I’m taking a chopper to Greyhold this afternoon. I won’t be back, but I will call tonight. Then, I’ll see you at the redesignation ceremony.”

Fort Greyhold was due to be renamed. The ceremony had been postponed for some time because of their busy schedules. This weekend, it was finally happening, and Nathaniel was looking forward to it.

The ceremony would not only commemorate his father, Neal, but it would also serve as Nathaniel’s official introduction to important military officials as Norman’s grandson.

“Okay,” she said, smiling. “I need to go. I’m going to be late for work.”

“One last kiss,” he begged, pulling her closer again.

His face looked so mischievous that Serena could not help but laugh.

Still, in the end, Serena could not say no to this handsome man. Who wouldn’t want to kiss him anyway?

After sharing one long kiss, they pulled away, breathless. Serena groaned, “I should have gotten up early to get a ride from my brother.”

Nathaniel simply chuckled. “Goodbye. I love you.”

She just smiled.

Nathaniel’s gaze darkened. He ordered the soldier who was driving them that day, “Lock the doors. My wife is not leaving this car until she says she loves me back.”

Serena, “...”

“Must we do this with witnesses?” she muttered.

Nathaniel remained unmoved.

Serena sighed. “Fine. I love you too. Happy?”

His eyes thinned further. “That wasn’t convincing.”

Serena narrowed her eyes. “You’re impossible.”

Nathaniel leaned back, clearly unimpressed.

Serena sighed before leaning over and kissing him again, slower this time.

When she pulled away, she murmured, “I love you. Very much.”
