The Lies Behind Her Marriage novel Chapter 247

The Scandal.

“How cruel of Brian? He has been flaunting Gwen like she is the legitimate girlfriend, when in fact, she was just a mistress.”

“What about Gwen? She has been bragging about being Mr. Kingsley’s girlfriend?”

“How despicable!”

Gwen received glares. Meanwhile, people began questioning Brian’s integrity.

“If Brian dares to do this to his own wife, he can't be trusted in business either."

“Gwen, how could you?” Daisy asked from her seat.

“No, it’s not like that!” Gwen snapped at Daisy, then at the judges. “It’s not like that at all! I am the woman Brian loves! Noelle and Brian were supposed to break up seven years ago!"

“Then why did Brian marry me?” Noelle raised her voice, suggesting a deeper meaning.

Turning to Brian, Noelle demanded answers. “Brian, if Gwen were the woman you truly loved, why offer marriage to me? We have been married for seven years!”

“Were you only deceiving me?”

“If so, what for? What benefit could you get out of this?” Noelle questioned. “Or did you just want the best of both worlds because Gwen didn’t mind being the side piece?”

Gasps echoed in the air.

Everyone had the same questions, and those points rendered Brian speechless.

Gwen, however, could not stand being humiliated this way. She revealed, “It’s because Noelle got pregnant, and Brian had to take responsibility!”

“So, it’s still Brian Kingsley’s fault in the end,” one said. “Why would he sleep with Noelle and marry her if he was in love with Gwen?”

“Gwen is probably the other woman—the one who isn’t loved.”

“She is probably just meat to Brian Kingsley!”

Gwen saw how Brian’s best friend also panicked. Logan opened his mouth, wanting to speak, but he cowardly sat back in his chair.

She wanted to tell the truth. Gwen wanted everyone to know that Noelle slept with a stranger and got pregnant, but at the same time, she knew that the truth would only destroy her.

Gwen could only grit her teeth.

Even Brian was torn about how to step in.

“Noelle, you’ve gone too far,” Brian said angrily.

“I’ve gone too far?” Noelle pointed to herself. “You were the one cheating in our relationship. Yet when I asked for a divorce, you rejected it because you didn’t want me to have any of our marital assets. How fair is that?”

“Yes, that’s not fair!” The audience expressed their support for Noelle. “Give her half of your assets!”

“You cheated—you give your wife what she deserves!”

“Not just our marital assets,” Noelle pointed out. “I want everything you have given to Gwen back—the apartment and millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry!”

“Oh, my God!” Serena screamed. “Brian, you spent that much on Gwen, your mistress, and Noelle doesn’t even have a decent diamond necklace?”

“Noelle,” Serena said, lowering her voice. “Use the adultery against him. If you file it properly, he may lose everything!”

“Yes,” Noelle said.

She looked so confident, it shook Gwen’s stance. Could it be that Noelle had truly created OmniSync Core?

“I secretly embedded a unique identifier in the code,” Noelle said. “I can show everyone.”

“Wait—no!” Gwen objected. “What if she does something to make it appear that way? Noelle cannot touch the laptop!”

“Then let’s have one of the judges check the software,” Noelle suggested, her arms folded against her chest.

The entire time, everyone watched, including Brian. He had been held in the front rows by Silas and his men.

“I’ll volunteer,” one of the judges said. He stood behind the laptop Gwen had brought to the stage and reattached the screen projector so everyone could see.

“Run line 742 under debug mode,” Noelle instructed.

The judge did as she said, and moments later, the screen showed a signature.

[creator_id = "NR-00767-OMNISYNC"]

“There,” Noelle said. “NR stands for my name, Noelle Rowan. And 00767 is my ID number at HelixPoint.”

Yet again, murmurs echoed in the room.

Gwen’s face turned complicated, but she couldn’t back down. She retorted, “NR does not mean Noelle Rowan. It means New Reign, because I was venturing into a new chapter in my life! And 00767 is just a random number I put in! I did not know it would end up being Noelle’s ID number at the company!”

“I created OmniSync Core, not Noelle!”
