The Lies Behind Her Marriage novel Chapter 257

Reason to Celebrate.

“Mom, Dad! Aren't we going to the theme park?”

“Wake up!”

“Ali and Bastin are here for breakfast already!”

Noelle gasped awake. She took a deep breath and tried to push the heavy man off her. “Silas.”

“Mommy!”

“Be right there, Theo! Just—just waking your dad up, okay!” Noelle called toward the door.

When she turned her attention back to the man in question, she sighed. He hadn’t moved an inch. “Silas, get off me. You’re too heavy.”

“One last cuddle,” Silas murmured, tightening his arms around her bare waist, completely unbothered.

His breath brushed slowly along the curve of her neck, his naked body writhing against hers.

Noelle stiffened. “Silas.”

Silas: “Mm?”

“Theo is outside,” she pointed out.

Silas: “I heard.”

Noelle: “And?”

Silas shifted slightly, just enough to settle more comfortably on top of her, her bosom flattening against his solid chest.

“I was very active last night,” he added. “Recovery is important.”

Noelle’s face flushed instantly. “Get. Off.”

Silas sighed like a man greatly burdened by life, then finally lifted himself, only to lean down and whisper to her ear.

“Fine,” he said, his hazel eyes full of mischief. “But I expect compensation later.”

Noelle, “...”

It had been a month since Brian, Gwen, and Logan were arrested. Which also meant it had been that long since Noelle and Silas had become intimate, and ever since, she had not escaped the man’s insatiable desire.

They did it almost every day.

And the strangest thing was… she couldn’t say no to him.

They were still staying at the Vander estate. Theo preferred being in the same house as Celine, Sterling, Serena, Bastin, and Ali.

Although Noelle and Silas had already told him they would eventually move out, they agreed to give Theo a full month to grow closer to his family, especially his cousins.

Theo simply loved the feeling of finally being home—belonging.

The setup had also allowed Silas and Noelle to work on their cases against Brian and Gwen, along with their new workloads.

Brian had agreed to divorce Noelle, granting her half of their marital properties. It took him a week to decide. Now, Noelle only had one more week to wait for the divorce certificate to be issued.

Additional charges were filed against Gwen after the extent of Benson’s trauma came to light. It wasn’t only the bruises and wounds—his emotional state had been severely affected as well. Whatever Gwen had done to Benson, it went beyond simple punishment.

Yes, that’s right. Two days ago, Nathaniel received the court’s approval for Sebastian and Alisa’s last name change. It took longer than Serena and Nathaniel had hoped, but that was because the twins' identities were already registered and required full legal processing.

“I’m going to miss my last grandkids," Sterling muttered, looking emotional.

“They will always be Vanders,” Nathaniel pointed out.

“Yes, and we now have Theo,” Celine reminded, while Serena nodded.

As Noelle and Silas took their seats, Theo exclaimed, “Yeah, Grandpa, I’m now a Vander.”

Theo’s name change was processed much faster. He only had a state-assigned name. Fortunately, Gwen and Brian had not registered any false identity for him, nor listed him as Ricardo Silva’s son. With no competing claims, the court approved his name change two weeks ago.

It was truly a reason to celebrate.

Thus, Silas and Nathaniel had both agreed to book Rexam Wonderland exclusively. Everyone was coming, including Sterling and Celine, as well as Xavier and the Hartleys.

On top of that, it was Silas’s birthday the next day.

Noelle concluded that day would be one of the most memorable for her and Theo, and perhaps for everyone else in their party as well.

Breakfast continued with the kids talking about the theme park.

It would be Theo’s first time going.

After an hour, everyone was finished. Theo stood up and announced, “Time to go!”

“Yay!” Sebastian cheered.

Alisa clapped her hands. "Theme park!"
