Another Vows.
“They say dreams do come true,” Noelle began, smiling softly as she gave her vows. “But I never imagined my dream would look like this… or that it would exceed everything I once hoped for… because I never imagined it would be you.”
She looked up at Silas, her gaze gentle with affection. “I married my high school rival… and a rather intimidating business associate.”
“I guess it’s true what they say. Life has a way of leading you to where you’re meant to be… even if you have lost your way,” she said, feeling emotional.
Because Noelle could not help but look back through the years.
She had been betrayed and hurt by the person she trusted the most. The son she thought was hers and cherished chose another woman to love. Worse, she had sacrificed her career for the man who only used her.
Silas was not only her saving grace, but the man who had truly loved her all these years.
The irony was… while she was holding on to the wrong love, the right one had been waiting all along.
“Silas, you not only opened my eyes, but you showed me what it means to be truly loved,” Noelle said, her heart tightening.
“I’ll admit,” a tear slipped down her cheek, “I didn’t always know what I deserved… until you came along.”
“Words cannot express how much you turned my life around. You helped me find our son, gave meaning to everything I’ve been through, and showed me where my love truly belongs.”
“Silas, I—I love you,” Noelle declared, her voice breaking in and out. “You are my rock, my constant, and my shield. I’ve never been so content with my life now that I am with you.”
Noelle had to wipe her tears, and Silas nearly embraced her, but she raised her hand and resumed, “I swear to be by your side, through the hard times and the good. I swear to always see your worth and cherish every moment with you.”
“I promise to be your home, just as you have become mine.”
“Silas,” Noelle smiled and took in a deep breath. Staring into her husband’s eyes, she said, “I will love you for the rest of my life… in every season, in every version of us, in every tomorrow we’re given.”
Before she knew it, Silas had finally let his guard down.
He pulled her into an embrace, and for a second, she heard him sniff back a tear.
The crowd applauded, and Noelle could see friends and family weeping with joy.
“Noelle, thank you,” he said in a whisper. “I feel like I’ve waited my whole life to hear you say that.”
***
When it was Silas’s turn to give his vows, he did not hold back either.
He wasn’t known for expressing himself well, but now that he had Noelle, he wanted the whole world to know she was finally his.
