Theo Is Ready.
“Go on, greet your aunt,” Margaret Kingsley urged Benson to approach Noelle. “Congratulate your aunt.”
Noelle smiled as the boy reluctantly walked toward her and Silas. The son she thought was hers looked up at her and said, “Congratulations, Aunt Noelle.”
There was a time when Benson had asked for her. Margaret had begged Noelle to see Benson. She did, and she even brought Benson a gift. However, she drew the line. Silas was firm about not sharing her with Benson, and to her, that was fair.
At the very least, Silas agreed to let Benson call her his “Aunt.”
“Congratulations on your wedding, Aunt Noelle,” Benson said.
Benson already fully understood that Noelle was not his real mother. Gwen was. The switch had been fully explained to him in ways he could understand. So, they no longer hid the truth from him.
Noelle smiled. “Thank you, Benson. I'm glad you came.”
Benson nodded. "I love the food."
"That's great," Noelle responded. She and her husband had been table-hopping, taking pictures with the guests. Noelle had invited the Kingsleys, and they brought Benson too.
“I think you have grown taller. Don’t forget to eat right and be good,” Noelle reminded him. She turned to Silas and introduced him. “This is my husband.”
She turned to Benson again and said, “This is the first time you’ve met him.”
Silas nodded at Benson. He said, “Benson, the good will be rewarded. Remember to be good always.” His gaze landed on Margaret and Edward Kingsley. “Listen to your grandparents and follow their rules, and you’ll grow up just fine.”
Benson bowed his head. “Yes, Sir.”
“Edward, Margaret,” Silas greeted Brian’s parents. “If you need anything, just let us know.”
It was Silas’s way of saying he was willing to help them, and even Benson, but not directly.
This was something Silas had already discussed with Noelle, and honestly, she agreed with him. Given all the pain Brian and even Benson had caused her, she no longer knew how to be the same mother figure to Benson. But she was willing to help Margaret and Edward in raising him.
“You are too kind, Mr. Vander,” Edward said, smiling at Silas. “But we can manage. You have already shown more than enough consideration to our family.”
After going to other tables, Noelle and Silas returned to their seats. Just then, Theo ran up to them. “Mom, Dad, I’m so happy Ali and Bastin are here. I love Collin and Rochelle. They are very cute.”
Then, Theo pouted. “But they are returning to Velmon City next week. Why is that?”
“Theo, Aunt Serena still has follow-up checkups with her doctor,” Noelle replied. “It will be a while before she moves back to Rexam. They might even consider living there for a while.”
Theo looked disappointed. He shifted his attention to where Alisa and Sebastian were before suddenly having a lightbulb moment. He said, “Well, since we haven't found Evie yet, can you give me a brother or sister?”
Noelle was stunned.
Silas snapped his head in Theo’s direction instantly.
“Are you sure, Theo?” Noelle asked. “Don’t you want to be our only baby for a while?”
Theo made a face and stepped back. He put his hands on his hips. “Mom, Dad, I’m not a baby anymore. And yes, I want a sister or brother.”
Noelle and Silas looked at each other.
“Then, we will grant your wish,” Silas said with a smile. “We will start making your sister or brother tonight.”
They had a total of five kids in their suite.
Nathaniel had been looking forward to making love with his wife. It had been ten weeks since she delivered. He had held back because she still bled two weeks back, and he earnestly wanted to give Serena more time to recover, given her surgery.
He thought that night would be the night, but he supposed they were going to have to give way to Silas and Noelle.
“Oh, stop moping,” Serena laughed. “It’s not like we could really stay away from the kids, especially Collin and Rochelle.”
They had nannies, yes, and Celine and Sterling could have also looked after the kids. Bianca was also at the same hotel. However, Serena and Nathaniel had the biggest suite, and their accommodation included a mini-playroom. Naturally, the kids preferred to stay with them.
While holding Collin, Serena grabbed Nathaniel’s hand. “We have forever.”
Those words made Nathaniel smile. He hugged his wife and kissed her cheek. “Indeed, we have forever.”
“Aunt, can I help take care of Collin or Rochelle?” Theo walked up to them and asked. He was smiling brightly, eager to take responsibility.
“Of course,” Serena said.
Theo held Collin, and surprisingly, he easily mastered the proper way to hold a baby. Not only that, but he was very careful.
“You are going to be a great brother, Theo,” Nathaniel remarked.
“He already is!” Alisa declared.
Serena and Nathaniel laughed because Alisa was truly right.
