The Loser Ex-Wife Came Back Hot novel Chapter 13

Sylvie had hoped to pry some information out of Caleb regarding Nova's background, but she ended up stepping right on a landmine.

"I have absolutely nothing to do with her. What do I care if her family has money or not?"

It was the first time Sylvie had ever heard such raw disgust in Caleb's voice. She panicked. "I'm sorry, I was just asking, I didn't mean to—"

Seeing her flustered expression, Caleb realized he had been too harsh. He softened his tone to comfort her. "Alright, relax. I know you're just worried I might have feelings for her. You don't need to worry. You're the one I like. I could never like an ugly freak like Nova."

Sylvie's cheeks flushed crimson. "Caleb..."

Just as Sylvie threw herself into Caleb's arms, she caught sight of Nova standing right behind him.

Nova had just walked up the stairs, only to witness this explosive scene.

Sylvie shoved Caleb away in a panic. "Nova, don't misunderstand! I was just..."

Hearing that Nova was behind him, Caleb deliberately pulled Sylvie right back into his embrace. "There's no misunderstanding. We like each other. Sylvie is my girlfriend now."

Caleb shot Nova a mocking smirk, desperately hoping to see a look of heartbreak and regret shatter across her face.

After all, Nova had always harbored a massive crush on him. She used to follow him around like a lost puppy and practically starved herself to lose weight for him.

He wanted to make it crystal clear to her that refusing to join his family was the biggest mistake of her life.

But while Caleb waited for her tears, Nova remained completely expressionless. She simply pointed at the two of them and called out to the Dean of Students, who was coincidentally patrolling the corridor. "Mr. Sterling, Caleb and Sylvie are breaking the strict no-dating rule!"

Seeing the intimidating Mr. Sterling marching toward them, Sylvie practically leaped out of Caleb's arms.

She was the faculty's favorite darling. If they found out she was sneaking around with a boy, her pristine reputation would be ruined.

Suddenly, the classroom door slammed open. Caleb stormed in, his eyes blazing with fury. He marched straight up to Nova and violently grabbed her arm. "Get out here!"

Caleb was strong, practically dragging her out of her seat, but Nova wasn't afraid.

This was a school, not his personal playground.

If she screamed for a teacher, there was nothing he could do to her.

Just as she was mentally calculating the best way to humiliate him a second time, a muscular arm shot across her line of sight, gripping Caleb's wrist with iron strength. "Let go."

The voice was familiar. It was the same voice she had heard the moment she was reborn.

Nova looked up. It was Alaric Langdon.
