The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 30

Giselle lowered her head, massive tears splashing onto the back of her hand.

"But she's always disliked me... I know it's because I monopolize your time, and she resents that."

"If... if she really hates me that much, maybe... I should just move out of the Manor. I'll go rent an apartment, and then she won't fight with you all the time. I don't want to be a burden on your marriage."

That line struck the exact nerve it was designed to.

His sister was just too kind and forgiving, willing to suffer just to make others happy.

His face darkened entirely, his grip on her hand tightening.

"Who would dare make you move out!"

He spoke with barely contained fury. "This is the Hayes family home, and you grew up here. No one has the right to kick you out, especially not Nora."

"But... Nora is out there all alone. What if something happens to her?"

"What could possibly happen to her? She has an unlimited black card. She's probably living it up in some luxury hotel right now."

He didn't bother hiding the derision in his voice, ending the topic on the spot. "If she wants to leave, let her. The family won't miss a useless ornament. Once she's suffered enough out there, she'll come crawling right back. Just focus on being the Hayes family daughter and don't worry about her."

Giselle nodded obediently, resting her head on his shoulder.

"As long as you're not mad. I was so scared you'd listen to her and abandon me."
