It seemed Gideon finally realized that forcing her into this unyielding confinement would never soften her heart. The arms tightly locking her waist finally, slowly released her, carrying an endless reluctance and sheer exhaustion.
His head dipped low. His bloodshot eyes were filled with shattered light, and the dried blood congealing on his lower lip looked especially glaring in the dim room.
He stared fixedly at Nora's ashen, bloodless face, his gaze a tangled mess of deep longing and lingering panic.
He raised a hand, wanting to touch her cheek, but paused in midair before forcing himself to pull back.
Staring deeply at her expressionless face, his voice was so hoarse he could barely form a coherent syllable.
"You... you get some rest. I won't bother you."
Forcing his swaying body upright, he backed away with heavy steps, though his eyes remained glued to her face, utterly reluctant to look away.
"I'll be right outside. If you need anything, call for me anytime."
From beginning to end, Nora didn't give him a single word in response.
She pulled the heavy quilt up, burying herself tightly from head to toe, completely shutting out the dim light and the man's gaze behind the cold barrier of the blankets.
The faint sound of the door hinges turning echoed softly, followed by the careful click of the door being shut.
The room plunged back into a deathly silence.
Curled up in the pitch-black, freezing dark of the bed, a deep ache pulsed from the very marrow of her hands.
Her eyes were open, staring into the pitch-black void before her. The only sound in her ears was her own heavy, slow breathing.
An unknown amount of time passed. The night slowly receded, and a sickly pale halo began to bleed through the window.
Suddenly.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
