His voice was a low, soothing murmur as he reached out and cradled her hands with utmost care.
The moment her fingers brushed the scalding surface of the liquid, she instinctively recoiled, trying to pull away.
The searing heat invaded the broken nerves through her pores, bringing a relentless, piercing sting.
Gideon immediately tightened his grip on her wrists, yet he was careful not to cause her any pain.
"Be a good girl. Don't be afraid of the heat."
"It'll soften those stiff tendons so the physical therapy won't hurt as much later. Just bear with it. I'll be right here with you the whole time."
Nora pressed her lips tightly together, enduring the torment of the intense heat.
The warm liquid enveloped her protruding, misaligned bones, its medicinal properties seeping deep within.
Stimulated by the heat, the damaged nerves flared as if thousands of tiny needles were plunging directly into her marrow. A fine layer of sweat quickly broke out across her forehead.
Gideon instantly pulled a clean tissue from his pocket, gently dabbing the moisture from her brow and the tip of her nose.
A professional physical therapist approached the sofa with a medical kit.
The therapist applied a thick layer of lubricating ointment over Nora's hands. Taking hold of her right index finger—the one most severely deformed—they began to slowly press it in the opposite direction.
In the quiet living room, the dull, sickening sound of bone grinding against bone echoed clearly.
Every time the therapist's thumbs dug into the old scar tissue that had been fused together for two years, trying to force the stiff, curled joints straight, a numbing, agonizing pain sliced through her nerve endings straight to her brain like a blunt knife hacking through flesh.
Nora's face went deathly pale, cold sweat beading thickly at her temples. She bit down on her lower lip so hard she didn't let out a single whimper.
"If it hurts, scream. Don't bite your lip, you're going to make it bleed."
"Tell me if it hurts and we'll take a break before continuing."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
