The streets were entirely deserted, the puddles from the recent rain reflecting the dim amber glow of the streetlights.
Nora didn't dare stop. Following the wide coastal highway, she dragged herself step by agonizing step toward the ocean on the outskirts of the city.
Without shoes to protect her, the jagged gravel, sharp twigs, and shards of broken glass on the pavement ruthlessly sliced into the soles of her feet.
The coarse stones tore through her fragile skin, her bright red blood mixing with the puddles on the asphalt, leaving a broken, bloody trail of footprints in her wake.
But she felt no pain.
The excruciating cramps in her abdomen, the shattered bones in her hands, the bleeding mess of her feet—all of this physical agony paled in comparison to the barren, dead void inside her heart.
Compared to this never-ending nightmare, her bodily torment felt as light as a feather.
She just wanted to run. To escape this suffocating concrete cage, to break free from the prison built of hatred, blood, and death.
She needed to go somewhere—anywhere—where there was no Gideon, no Hayes family, and an end to this apocalyptic disaster.
...
Twenty minutes later.
Nathan pushed open the door to the hospital room, a fresh bag of medication in hand.
"Nora, it's time for your meds..."
His voice died in his throat the moment he saw the empty bed.
The blankets were violently tossed aside. The woman who should have been resting there was gone. Only a faint, metallic scent of blood lingered in the air.
The IV bag on the bedside pole was still rhythmically dripping fluid. The needle had been brutally yanked out and tossed onto the tiles, forming a small puddle of medicine swirled with fresh blood.
"Nora? Nora!"
"Where is she?! Where is my sister?!"
The Hayes bodyguards rushed in moments later, their faces draining of color. Shoving Nathan out of the way, they tore through the bathroom and checked the balcony.
"Mrs. Hayes is gone!"
"Move! Fan out and search! Call Liam immediately! Pull all the security footage! We cannot let her escape!"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
