Nora herself didn't understand it either.
Gideon showed up on time every day, working tirelessly, and never once flinched at her icy treatment.
There was no hatred or disgust in the way he looked at her, and certainly none of his usual condescending charity.
Instead, his eyes were brimming with cautious desperation to please and an endless supply of indulgence.
That look made Nora feel entirely unsettled.
Over the next few weeks, Gideon seamlessly integrated himself into the shop's daily operations.
The townspeople gradually got used to the devastatingly handsome man in high-end suits doing chores at the shop.
A group of young local girls walked in together, looking to pick out some flowers to decorate their rooms.
As soon as they entered, they noticed Gideon sitting in the corner.
The man's stunningly sharp features and the air of absolute nobility radiating from him looked entirely out of place in Port Blossom.
The girls nudged each other, whispering in hushed tones as they stole glances at him out of the corners of their eyes.
Nora stood behind the counter, her face cold as she wrapped their bouquets.
Cutting the wrapping paper required the coordination of both hands, but her stiff fingers made her movements sluggish.
The edges of the paper kept curling up, and despite pressing down hard several times, she couldn't get it to stay flat.
Gideon stood up and walked over to the counter.
He reached out with his long fingers, pinning down the curling edges and smoothing the paper flat against the surface, holding it steady so Nora could easily make her cut.
Seeing this, the girls immediately covered their mouths to hide their giggles, their eyes sparkling with gossip.
"Boss, is this your boyfriend? He's so gorgeous, and so sweet for helping you out!" one of the bolder girls teased.
Nora froze instantly, her scissors hovering mid-air.
"He is not."
She looked up, meeting the girl's eyes with a deadly serious expression. "I don't know him."
Startled by her icy demeanor, the girls awkwardly dropped their smiles, paid quickly, and hurried out of the shop with their flowers.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
