The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 470

Seeing her sit down, the harsh lines of Gideon's face instantly softened.

He picked up a ladle, scooped out a bowl of warm broth, and gently placed it right next to her hand.

"Have some soup to warm up first."

He coaxed softly, his tone swimming in genuine concern.

Nora lowered her lashes, watching the steam rise from the bowl. She slowly extended her right hand and gripped the spoon.

Gideon sat across from her, resting his chin on one hand, utterly engrossed in her every movement.

The man's dark eyes were flooded with an unbreakable tenderness, tracking every inch of her features.

The meal dragged to an end in dead silence. Nora chewed mechanically, tasting absolutely nothing.

Gideon constantly added food to her plate, using his honeyed voice to beg her to take just one more bite.

Nora put down her spoon, pulled a napkin to wipe her mouth, and made to get up from the table.

Gideon stood up, blocking her path.

He walked over to the side counter and picked up a stunningly wrapped square gift box.

He brought it back to the table and sat back down across from her.

His long fingers untied the ribbon and carefully lifted the lid.

He slowly slid a small white porcelain plate across the table toward her, staring deeply into her face, his eyes swirling with a suffocating mix of anticipation and devotion:

"I had the restaurant specifically prepare this. Try it."

Nora looked down.

Resting flawlessly in the center of the plate was an impeccably crafted slice of the Mango Mousse Cake.

Freshly diced mango sat in perfect little cubes, drizzled with golden jam and topped with a mint leaf, radiating a sickly sweet, overwhelmingly strong scent of mango.
