The Mafia King's Unknown Doctor Wife novel Chapter 324

To Massimo's surprise, he didn't have one visitor standing outside his door—he had two. Elio and Rocco Conti, to be exact.

Massimo quickly opened the door and gestured to the couch in the main suite. "Get in," Massimo growled. "Before someone sees you."

"Please we're not amateurs," Elio said as he listened to Massimo's instructions. "We weren't followed."

"I made sure of it," Rocco confirmed.

"It's good to know you're taking this seriously though," Elio stated, lazily pointing at Massimo's raised gun. "Though you might want to spring for a newer model—they've got built-in silencers now, and I doubt you want anyone hearing anything suspicious at this hour."

Massimo shut the door. "It gets the job done," he said before placing it on a nearby table.

Elio shrugged as he sat down and got comfortable. "Suit yourself."

Massimo took a seat on one of the open chairs. Then he turned to face the two men.

"Well," Massimo started, "are you going to keep talking about useless things, or are we going to actually debrief on your mission?"

One night ago, Massimo had tasked Luca with sending the Conti men a very important message.

"Listen closely," Massimo had said, "and tell them this exactly—"

"Wait," Luca stated, "If it's an exact message, it's better if you write it down. You can add your seal as proof, too."

Massimo relented and wrote out a letter, detailing his plan. Considering the late hour, he let Luca read it to make sure his handwriting was still clear.

Rocco rolled his eyes at the nickname. "You would think they'd use a better insult."

"Or at least cuss you out like a real man," Elio agreed. "Anyways, we said, 'hell yeah,' and then we're suddenly getting all these plans shoved in our faces."

Rocco pulled out a wad of thick folded papers. "I brought copies," he explained as he handed the pages to Massimo.

The Don of All Dons neatly unfolded them and began to read. The room was silent as Massimo looked over the men's prize.

It was a map of the hunting grounds, though it lacked a good amount of details. The best details, however, were where guard posts were stationed—there were only a handful that weren't marked. Then there were a bunch of squares marked in different areas in a variety of colors.

Massimo instantly noticed there were a fair amount of squares around the empty guard post he had investigated with Elena yesterday.
