The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 122

Urged on by Gideon, the final scene began. It was simpler than the last—just Audrey pushing Rainey down a tree-lined path. There were no lines. Everyone thought it would be a breeze. Nobody expected things to go so horribly wrong.

The chaos started when a snake suddenly appeared on set. A highly venomous one.

The moment Gideon yelled "Action!", the snake darted straight toward Audrey as if it had a target locked. Having spent her childhood outdoors in the rural mountains, Audrey instantly recognized it as venomous—and saw that it was coming right for her. She slammed the brakes on the electric wheelchair and leaped backward. The snake aggressively coiled toward her leg. A split second before its fangs could sink into her, Audrey moved with lightning speed, grabbing the creature right behind its head.

It all happened too fast. Rainey stared in absolute shock at Audrey, who stood barely three feet behind her, casually holding a deadly snake. How were her reflexes that fast? Rainey hadn't even processed what was happening before Audrey had the lightning-fast reptile pinned in her grip.

"Ahhh!" Someone finally registered the danger. Screams erupted, people scattered, and the set descended into total pandemonium.

"Where did that come from?!" Gideon shouted, backing away with his walkie-talkie.

Snapping out of her daze, Rainey's eyes darted around. She instantly began to mimic the terrified crew, shrieking at the top of her lungs. "Ahhh! Joaquin, save me! A snake!" As she screamed, she discreetly flicked off the wheelchair's brake. Sitting on a downward slope, the heavy electric chair immediately barrelled down the path.

"Rainey!" Joaquin lunged to catch the wheelchair, but he was a second too late.

Crash!
