The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 124

Audrey had just walked out of the precinct with Nora when Bianca called.

"Audrey, hide!" Bianca's panicked voice blared through the speaker. "Someone leaked your marriage license with Joaquin online! The internet is tearing you apart, calling you an adulteress and a shameless cheater! Every gossip reporter in the city is hunting for you. Find somewhere safe and stay out of sight!"

Audrey's heart sank. Next to her, Nora quickly pulled up the news.

Staring at the photo of the marriage license, Nora gasped. "They actually leaked the official documents?"

Audrey frowned, her eyes narrowing as she studied the picture. She vividly remembered leaving those exact papers in the nightstand of the master bedroom at Judd Manor when she moved out over half a month ago. Martha and the other maids always avoided cleaning her and Joaquin's private spaces, so it was highly unlikely they did it. Moreover, the photo revealed a sliver of the bedsheets. Whoever took it had casual, unrestricted access to their bedroom, boldly placing the documents on the bed to snap the picture. If it wasn't Joaquin, it had to be someone from the Judd family.

Her expression hardened. She hung up on Bianca and turned right back toward the precinct doors. "I want to report a break-in. Someone trespassed into my private residence and stole my personal property."

If their goal was to leak the license to brand her a cheating wife, then it was time to drag the rat out of the gutter. Since she had just filed a report, Audrey was familiar with the process and quickly filled out the paperwork.

Half an hour later, she and Nora walked out again. This time, the precinct steps were swarming with reporters.

A terrifying wall of cameras and microphones was shoved aggressively into their faces.
