The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 23

Julian arrived shortly after, trailing his assistant. After a quick exchange of pleasantries, he rubbed his temples and got down to business. "Our last film was a massive hit and swept the international awards. Because of that, this new project attracted some major investors. Which should be a good thing."

He sighed heavily. "But you know how it is. Investors love to force their own people into high-profile projects just to build up their popularity. And usually, these nepotism hires can't act to save their lives."

Audrey instantly understood. "You don't want an amateur ruining an established character, so you want me to write a custom, throwaway role just to stick them in the script?"

Julian nodded vigorously. "Exactly. Their only demand is that she gets some speaking lines. They don't care about screen time. I need you to organically weave this nepo-baby into the plot without destroying the narrative."

"No problem." Audrey smiled. "Just send over her profile."

She had done this plenty of times before; it was hardly a challenge.

"I don't have her details yet, but I'll forward them as soon as I do." Relieved, Julian led her toward the soundstages, adding, "From what I hear, she’s a total rookie. She's also practically chronically ill. I have no idea what these investors are thinking. If she's sick, she should be resting in bed, not dragging down a production."

"Who knows, maybe she'll miraculously recover by the time her scenes roll around," Audrey patted his shoulder reassuringly. "I'll write her as a fragile, sickly beauty."

...

Meanwhile, at the hospital.
