The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 25

The atmosphere in Judd Manor was downright arctic. Joaquin stared fixedly at the text on his screen, his eyes storming. He was just about to call his assistant to track her down when Felix Foster’s name lit up his phone.

"Joaquin, I'm at the Dynasty Hotel," Felix said.

Already annoyed, Joaquin assumed his friend wanted to drag him out drinking. "I'm not in the mood to go out—"

"I'm not calling you for a drink!" Felix sounded utterly shell-shocked. "Guess who I just ran into?"

"Who?"

"Your wife!"

Standing in a corner of the hallway, Felix stared blankly at the woman throwing vicious punches through a crowd. "She's... I think she's in a street brawl!"

"A brawl?" Joaquin surged to his feet, grabbing his keys and striding out the door. "What happened?"

"I'm not completely sure," Felix hesitated. "There’s a lot of them. Do you want to come down?"

Before he even finished the sentence, the roar of a car engine echoed through the speaker, followed by Joaquin's freezing demand, "Which floor?"

"Sixteenth..." Felix murmured, still watching the carnage unfold. "Has she... had professional combat training?"

Felix wasn't the type to interfere in other people's drama, usually opting to just walk away. But the guy currently getting pummeled, Harold Hunter, was a notorious creep who had recently harassed several female executives at Felix’s company. Felix had come upstairs fully intending to teach the sleazebag a lesson, only to witness the absolute last thing he expected.

Joaquin's notoriously submissive, soft-spoken wife had this kind of lethal, explosive temper?
