"Audrey, you will not believe what I just saw!"
Inside a sleek apartment just a few blocks from Silveridge Movie World, Bianca stomped in from the balcony, marching straight into the living room. "I just saw Rainey's latest post on Instagram!"
Audrey was curled up on the couch, sifting through the script revisions Julian had sent over. She'd been sick with a foggy head for the past week, leaving her work completely untouched. Now, with the film's production officially kicking off in just seven days, she was under intense pressure. The deadline was tight. She had to finalize every single page before the kickoff ceremony.
Hearing her best friend's dramatic entrance, she glanced up. "What did she post?"
Bianca shoved her phone in Audrey's face, practically vibrating with rage. "Look at this!"
Audrey frowned, her eyes scanning the glowing screen. There was Rainey, cradling a massive bouquet of deep red roses, sporting a sickeningly sweet, triumphant smile. The caption read: [Surprised with these beauties today. The air just smells sweeter! A massive shoutout to my favorite guy—his taste is absolutely impeccable!]
Audrey's grip on the phone tightened, a faint tremor running through her fingers.
Bianca flopped down beside her, fuming. "Joaquin is an absolute piece of trash! Today is literally your wedding anniversary. It's bad enough he didn't get you anything, but he sends her flowers? And red roses, out of all things! He knows damn well those are your absolute favorite. To give them to Rainey on this exact date? What kind of sick game is he playing?"
Seeing her friend so fiercely protective, Audrey let out a soft, breathy laugh. She reached over and gave Bianca's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Alright, breathe. Don't let it get to you. I've already made up my mind to divorce him. Whoever he wants to buy flowers for, and whenever he chooses to do it, is entirely his business. It has absolutely nothing to do with me anymore."
Bianca looked up, her eyes searching Audrey's face. There was no trace of heartbreak. No jealousy. She looked incredibly calm—almost detached, as if they were discussing the romantic drama of a total stranger.
