So, this was what it looked like when he actually cared about someone. They had been married for an entire year, but today was the day she finally saw his true colors...
"Mrs. Judd. Ms. Snow. Please come with us. We'd prefer not to use force."
The bodyguard's gruff voice snapped Audrey back to reality. She blinked, offering the massive men a faint, hollow smile. "I'll go with you. My friend has nothing to do with this, she can—"
"What are you talking about?" Bianca stepped up, grabbing Audrey's hand. "Do you honestly think I'd let you face those vultures alone?"
Bianca glared at the bodyguards. "I'm coming with you. I am the heiress of the Snow family. If Joaquin Judd wants to mess with me, he’d better be prepared for the fallout!"
Audrey squeezed Bianca's hand, a sad smile touching her lips. "Thank you."
...
The hospital corridor was suffocatingly tense.
Joaquin stood outside the ICU doors like a massive, unmovable statue, radiating anxiety. His bodyguards formed a human wall, completely isolating him from the rest of the hallway.
Audrey and Bianca were forced to sit on a waiting bench outside the perimeter.

"What the actual f—" Bianca practically screamed. "She leaves him at the altar, you swoop in and save his reputation, and now they want to harvest your bone marrow?! Is this a sick joke?!"
Her voice echoed down the hall, causing several nurses and bodyguards to turn and stare.
Bianca quickly lowered her voice, grabbing both of Audrey's hands. "Does Joaquin know you're pregnant?"
Audrey shook her head.
"I'm going to tell him right now!" Bianca sprang to her feet, marching straight toward Joaquin's imposing figure. "Let's see what matters more to him—his precious runaway bride, or his own flesh and blood!"
