“Jacqueline has Rory,” she says, looking exhausted.

“Who is Jacqueline and who is Rory?” I ask gently. My mate isn’t making any sense.

She blinks at me. “I…I had to name our son. I told him if he had a name that he couldn’t die. I hope that’s okay.”

“Rory?” My son has a name.

“It means Red King. I…I almost lost him. He’s still too young. I don’t think he would have survived if it wasn’t for Jacqueline. I was bleeding…” she cuts off when I growl.

“Sorry. I smelled your blood. I didn’t realize at first that he’d survived,” I tell her, looking at her face, memorizing everything as if I haven’t seen her before. She is so precious to me. Something tight inside me finally begins to release.

“Like I said, he’s about two or three weeks early. I was exhausted and bleeding, and I passed out right after he was born. Jacqueline found us, got us across the river. She’s being hunted by her Alpha,” she says.

“We’ve met him. We killed several of his warriors,” Hunter says. Kayce and Ezra shift back and begin searching for Jacqueline’s scent.

Nikki looks at me. “His Beta wants me now, too,” she says.

She wraps her arms around me, nodding her head, holding me tightly.

“Robin,” Hunter says softly. When I look, he nods his head at Nikki’s wrists. They are still red and raw from where Camden had her handcuffed and shackled to the wall. I glance down and see her ankles are in the same condition.

I scoop her into my arms. “We need to get you warm.

“We need to find Jacqueline and Rory. I sent them into the river, expecting to easily overtake Camden since he’s missing a foot, but then Alpha David arrived. He’s the one hunting Jacqueline. But she’s not a mother. She has no way to feed Rory. We have to find them, Robin.”

“We will. The others will help us,” I say, just as the rest of the group

arrives.

“Are they dead?” I ask.

“Not all of them. The Alpha and Beta are still alive as are three warriors. We killed five in total,” Lucas says.
