Chapter 440
I pull her to me, burying my face in her neck. Her arms wrap around me and my body jerks with the sobs I refuse to let come. My mate was the one who was kidnapped, she was the one who delivered our son and nearly died, but she’s here, consoling me.
I scoop her up, putting her on the bed and crawling over her. I start with her face, kissing her forehead, her eyes, her cheeks, her nose, and spending some time kissing her mouth. Then I begin to move down her body, relishing her scent, reacquainting myself with her body and the changes in it since I last saw her. I spend extra time kissing the wounds on her wrists and ankles, then some extra time kissing her soft
stomach that I know will be hard and flat as soon as Adira is back.
Then I crawl between her legs, and savor her taste, listening to the soft, sweet sounds of my mate as I gently bring her to orgasm. I know she’s tired and needs her rest. I do too. So, after her second orgasm, I slide up her body, kiss her once more, than wrap myself around her before both of us fall into a deep sleep.

“I’m going to kill your mate,” Camden says.
“Fuck you!” I yell I at him.
୮
“Oh, you will be, just as soon as I get rid of that pup in your belly.”
I look down. Wait! I delivered Rory. What’s he doing back in my

stomach? Hook around, realizing that I’m back in shackles, my wrists and ankles are bound. I’m back in that room, that awful room. Was it all a dream? Did I not escape?
I look back and see the glint of a knife just as Camden raises his arm, then he slams it down into my stomach and I scream!
“Nikki! Nikki, look at me! You’re safe! You’re home! You’re safe. Rory
is safe! Open your eyes, Nikki! Get out of the dream,” my mate’s urgent voice says, his hands coming to my face.
When I open my eyes, I push him off of me, looking at my stomach. “Where is he? Where’s Rory?” I ask in a panic.
“He’s in the nursery…” I don’t let him finish. I leap out of bed and run to make sure that he’s alive and safe. When I get to his crib, he’s fussing and I snatch him up, into my arms, and hold him tightly against me, panting with the fear of losing him as I breath in his musky, earthy scent.
I feel Robin’s arms come around me, holding both of us.
“You’re safe. You’re both safe,” he says. Anod, but the remnants of the nightmare still linger, the pain in my stomach where Camden stabbed me is still fresh in my mind.
Robin scoops me up, walking me and Rory to the rocking chair and sitting down, helping to get me comfortable before I begin nursing our son and he begins rocking the three of us.
I lean my head against Robin’s shoulder, still breathing heavily from
the stress of the dream.

>“It felt so real.”
“It was real, so I’m sure your mind will take some time to remember that you’re safe.”
I know that this is exactly the kind of thing that Robin is blaming himself for, but this isn’t his fault. The blame for all of this falls
