Chapter 441
He’s quiet, but he doesn’t pull away from me, so I wait him out. “I realized that there is no life for me without you anymore. You are the light in my life, the joy, the happiness, the laughter, the challenge, you are everything. I don’t want to live a day without Nikki. I don’t think I could if anything ever happened to you. I’m not sure I realized how absolute my love and need for you are until you were gone. But I can’t lose you, not ever. Without you, I can’t and won’t go on. I don’t even care about being an Alpha. Reese can run this pack if I’m gone. If you were gone, I wouldn’t want to live. Derric agrees with me. This time he actually chuckles. “Goddess, I love you so much.”
“Good, because your son is done and it smells like he has a dirty diaper, so he’s all yours.”
“I’m happy to spend any time, even stinky time, with my son.”
When we stand and Robin goes to change him, I have an idea. Robin missed out on a lot with our son’s birth and the first few days while he and I were bonding. I grab my phone and order what I need.
My timing is off, but I think it’s late evening. We both need some food now that we’ve slept and then I want to have Rory seen by the doctor.
Robin turns and looks at me. “Where did you want to eat? Here or downstairs?”
I should have known he’d be connected to my mind. He always was before, but now, it seems even more important to him that he stays connected to me.
