“He’ll probably sleep most of the time we’re gone, but if nothing else, you’ ll get a chance to change a diaper and give him a bottle,” Nikki says, laughing when Jake’s lip curls. Letti just laughs at her mate.

“You need the practice, Jake. I’m not going to change every single diaper, she tells him.

“I can’t speak for the others, but diaper changing has been mostly my thing,” I tell Jake.

“Why?” he asks.

“Until Nikki couldn’t keep up with his appetite, she nursed him every couple of hours and then he fell back to sleep. That few minutes of diaper changing was my only time with son, just me and him. You’ll be competing against his mother who obviously takes priority because she feeds them, and sleep. Trust me, falling into a very distant third-place doesn’t sit well.”

“That’s why I do the diaper changing,” Kayce says, walking up to us.

“That’s what Robin was just saying,” Jake says.

“Brianna is just starting to need a bottle, so all this time Allison has been nursing. Diaper changing is kind of my time with my daughter. Yeah, it’s

stinky, but that and bath time are my favorite times because it’s daddy- daughter time, isn’t it my baby girl,” he coos at Brianna.

“Aren’t you afraid you’re going to break her, or drop her?” Jake asks, looking at Brianna who looks very small in Kayce’s large arms.

“At first, I was terrified. I barely moved when she was in my arms. But now, I realize they aren’t as fragile as you originally think they are. I mean, she’s got Alpha and Beta blood in her. Your pup will also have Alpha blood in her because you’re an Alpha now. You have to be careful to support their necks and heads, but really, they’re more stable than you’d think,” Kayce says as Allison comes over and kisses the top of her daughter’s head.

“What’s everyone doing tonight? Do you want me to have them fire up the grills out back and put some music on?” she asks.

“My mate is taking me for a run,” Adira purrs, leaning into me.

“We’re going to eat first, feed Rory, then I want to let Adira stretch her legs and build her strength,” I say, wrapping my arm around my mate.

“My patrols are still doubled, Robin, so as long as you stay on my pack lands, you’ll be safe,” Kayce says turning to Letti and Jake. “How do you feel about watching two babies for a couple of hours? My little mate could use a run too.”

“A run? Or does Rodion want to hunt his mate?” Mizette, Allison’s wolf asks, smiling coyly at her mate.

“I love a good hunt, and you never disappoint me,” Rodion’s deeper voice says to Mizette.

I feel Derric push forward again, turning to look at Nikki. It’s Adira’s eyes

that meet ours.

“You can try to catch me,” she purrs.

“Oh, I will catch you, my little mate,” he says, his voice a growl of pleasure at the idea of hunting Adira

“So, we’re all hunting our mates tonight, is that the plan?” Hunter asks walking up.

“Apparently, that’s the plan. I can have our nursery staff watch the pups if you two want some time to yourselves,” Allison says to Jake and Letti. Jake looks really worried, but Letti looks fine.
