“Exactly,” he says. “So, don’t let me down,” he says, slapping me on the shoulder and making me laugh.

“Dutton?” Luna Tammi calls out, walking over.

He turns immediately, ready to give his attention to his mate, as he should.

“What is it baby? Are you still feeling sick?”

My Lunas are like night and day. In some ways, it makes sense. They‘ re twins and while their looks are identical, their personalities couldn’t be any more different. It doesn’t take too long for me to get there. It’s faster to run in wolf form, but by car, it still only takes an hour. They’re having a reception tonight and then first thing in the morning, the competition will begin Alpha Robin and Alpha Kayce have opened their packs to the competitors, but since I missed last weekend when they toured the pack, I’ve already decided to sleep here and get a feel the pack lands.

When I get to the pack, there are people everywhere. As soon as I step out of the car, I feel Marric, my wolf, stand up in my head.

‘Marric, what’s up?‘

I’m hyper–aware of the dangers to our Lunas. Luna Nikki was kidnapped by Camden. He and Koden are still out there.

Rather than answer, Marric pushes me to walk toward the back of the packhouse where the scent of meat cooking on grills is strong. I grab my bag and, following instinct, I let Marric guide us.

I distractedly say hello to people who say hi to me, catching a faintly fruity scent that is like a beacon calling to me. Apricots. I LOVE apricots.

The closer I get, the stronger her scent and my desire to find her gets.
