I shrug. “You must have done something really good somewhere in your life to deserve a woman as perfect as I am.” I tease.

He chuckles before leaning in to kiss me. It starts soft and gentle, but he deepens it as I wrap my arms around him, sliding my fingers into his hair and surrendering to his kiss.

“You are perfect, absolutely perfect for me. I’ll call Reese, let him know I’m leaving so he can keep watch over you,” he says.

I walk Robin out and wait while he kisses the top of Rory’s head before kissing me goodbye.

My phone rings. I look at the caller ID before answering. “Tell me you have good news for me Vincent,” I say.

“We found her Alpha,” he says. I sit up, instantly alert.

“Where?” I ask, looking at Cash.

“She’s in a pack in the northern territory, almost straight west from our pack.”

“West? Not south where we spotted her before?”

“No, Alpha. And she looks pretty settled in this pack. I think this is where she’s residing now. There’s a pack that’s bordering it on the east side, but nothing on the west. However, they seem to have increased patrols running, but I haven’t seen a reason for the increase.”

“Were you spotted?” I ask, wondering if the patrols are because they are expecting me to attack.

“No, Alpha. I’m sure of it and the extra patrols were in place before we arrived.”

I look at him. “Do you think you can lead the battle against this pack on your own?”

He raises an arrogant eyebrow, making me smile. I like my Beta.

“If I’m going to take over as Alpha, then yes, I better be able to lead a fight to take the pack.”

“Good. You’re in charge of taking the pack and killing the idiot. I’m going to go get my mate and kill the man who marked her.”

“What do you mean you haven’t seen him?” I growl.

“We’ve seen Beta Jacqueline and we’ve seen the man we believe is the Alpha and his two pregnant mates./pretty twins by the way, but we haven’t seen the man that marked our future Luna.”

I look at Cash. “So, where the fuck is he?” I return my attention to Vincent. “Keep an eye on her but don’t approach.”

“Yes, Alpha,” he says, and I hang up. I sit for a moment, furious that I don’t know where that asshole is. Then I swipe everything off my desk.

“I can’t make her mine if he’s alive and I can’t kill him if I don’t know where he is,” I say through gritted teeth.
