“Not if they bring all of those packs down on me. We’re a strong pack, Cash, but I’ll be sending a group with you and there aren’t enough of us to take on such a large group of allies, and that must be what they are if they’re giving away pack lands like we saw them doing.”

I sit back, thinking. “I need to see her. I need to see these patrols for myself. I need to see if there’s a way that I can sneak her out of there,” I say, looking up at Cash.

“You go get your pack. I’ll go see about your sister. If you see the man who marked her, kill him.”

“How do you want to handle this, Alpha?” I ask Alpha Robin. I was surprised when he arrived at Alpha Calvin’s pack, but I shouldn’t have been. If he thinks Camden will be here, it makes sense that he wants to be the one to kill him.

Anthony looks thoughtful as Dante, Alpha Robin, and I all wait for him to think through his answer.

“We know the attack is coming and we have eyes on Alpha David’s pack. We also sent some of your men to search for Caleb and Camden’ s scents, but we haven’t heard back from them. I’ve already increased patrols, and the pack is on standby. Our safe rooms are stocked and ready for when the attack comes.”

He looks at all of us. “I believe, Alpha, that your main reason for being here is Camden. I would suggest you focus on him and assist the pack as much as you can while hunting for your main target,” he says, before turning to me. “Beta Miles, your main target is Alpha David. I would suggest that you focus on him and the rest of the pack can focus on fighting his warriors,” he says before turning to Dante. “You and I can focus on getting Caleb.”

I look at Dante and we both smile before I slap Anthony on the back. “Anthony, we might just make an Alpha out of you yet.”

“I’d like to become proficient at being a Bèta before I think about becoming an Alpha,” he says.

“Beta Miles,” I answer without looking at it.

“Beta, Alpha David and his pack are on the move.”

“Headed this way?” I ask, looking up at the others.

“Yes Beta, but we have a problem.”

“What’s that?” I ask.

“Beta Cash is leading the warriors north to Alpha Calvin’s pack. Alpha David is headed west.”

I look at Alpha Robin as my lips press together. “Son of a bitch! He’s going after Jacqueline. Get back to Alpha Calvin’s pack. We’ll be ready when they arrive,” I say before hanging up.

“I need to call Jacqueline,” I say to the others as the three men all begin barking orders to their pack members, readying for battle.

I step away, hitting speed dial.

“Miles?” she asks, knowing I shouldn’t be calling her right now.

“Jacqueline, Alpha David is headed your way,” I say without preamble.

“What? He’s going to attack here?” she asks, and I hear her moving “Alpha!”

“No, Jacqueline. Your brother is bringing the army to attack Alpha Calvin’s pack. Alpha David is headed toward you.”

“I’d like to see him get onto our pack lands.” I hear Alpha Dutton

“Miles,” he says, when he’s done.

“Yes, Alpha?”

“Your mate will be safe. I’ll make sure of it. Focus on your battle and

take care of those assholes.”

“Yes, Alpha. Thank you.”

I hear Jacqueline walk away from him.
