Chapter 518

“What are with doing with this piece of shit, Robin,” Reese says. I turn, smiling because without realizing it, Reese went into Alpha mode. I’m so proud he won his own pack.

Robin tucks me into his side and turns to address the pack that has started gathering around. “As much as I hate Camden and I hate him with every ounce of my being, as much as I wanted to kill him, there is one person who may hate him more than I do,” he says, turning to look at me.

“You brought him to me so I could kill him?” I ask him.

“Only if you want to. You suffered more at his hands than I did. He dies either way, but I wanted to give you the chance to do it, if you wanted to. And then, we can finally put all of it behind us.”

When I look back at him, Camden has shifted back into his human

form.

“Nicole, don’t do it …” Camden begins. My warriors immediately begin kicking him to shut him up.

I step away from Robin, looking at Camden as if he’s some sort of insect that I’ve never seen before.

“I stopped using that name a long time ago, Camden. You used to know that.”

“Please.” he begs.

“You tried to kill my mate. You threatened to kill my pup. You threatened to rape me and force your mark on me, all because you couldn’t have me. I was never yours. I was never meant to be yours. I am Robin’s. I have always been his, I will always be his, and you are nothing to us. You didn’t succeed in killing my mate, my son, or destroying me.”

I say it all with no emotion; no anger, no sadness, only conviction.

I walk up to Camden, feeling Robin come to stand just behind me, giving me his strength by letting me know he’s here if I need him, that he’ll always be here if I need him.

“Camden, for your crimes, I sentence you to death. May the goddess have mercy on your soul, because I surely do not.”

Adira extends her claws, and I raise my arm to the sky.

“NO!” he screams, but I swipe my hand down and in one smooth, swift slice, I remove his head from his body.

The warriors begin to cheer, but I turn to Robin, who pulls me into a tight embrace.

“Let’s go wash his disgusting scent off of us and then, I want to celebrate that he’s out of our lives permanently,” he says against my

ear.

I nod and he pulls away, looking at Camden’s body and head on the ground. “Get rid of that,” he growls, then turns to Reese.

“Thank you, as always my friend, for looking after my mate while I was gone. Can you let the other Alphas know?”

“Of course. Enjoy your celebration,” he says, smiling as he turns to head back to his pack.

Robin scoops me into his arms and carries me upstairs where our celebration begins before we leave the shower.

Beta Miles and Beta Anthony called to let me know that they captured Caleb and asked me if I wanted to be the one to kill him. My immediate thought was no. No, I do not want to kill anyone. I don’t like killing. But I’m an Alpha now. I don’t get to put my own wishes ahead of the pack’s needs. This man hurt us all, and he most likely had a hand in the attempted murder of my mate, so he must die.

I let the pack know that Caleb had been captured and that he was being brought to our pack for a public execution. The pack cheered and I knew I’d made the right decision.

“Hey, are you okay?” Jocelyn asks.

“I’m wondering how many mistakes I can make before the pack begins to really challenge me.

me.”

“What mistake did you make?” she asks.

“Not dealing with Caleb when I should have. I let other things become a priority and just based on the pack’s response to being able to watch his execution, I’d say that I waited much too long to deal with him.”

“Have you always been this hard on yourself?” she asks me.

I smile and look at my Beta and the woman who is very quickly becoming my best friend. “I wasn’t always the Alpha of my own pack.”

“You didn’t answer my question,” she says, studying me.
