Chapter 213
Chapter 213
We were on our way to the location James gave up.

I had no idea what Lucien did, but it worked, and James confessed the truth and gave up where Kaia was being held.
I was going alone with Lucien since Zane had to return to the pack with James and handle things while I went after Tarick Moss.
I asked him to send backups with Ronan and Calder. He wanted us to wait for our backup, but I couldn’t, knowing that every second wasted put Kaia’s life in danger, drove me mad.
We were already halfway to the coordinates James spat out, and my hands were still trembling around the steering wheel.
From the aftershocks of what I’d almost done.
Lucien was silent beside me; his expression remained stoic. He hadn’t told me exactly what he did to pry the truth out of James, but I was glad it worked.
Judging from the way James had been shaking when Zane dragged him out of that room, his life must have flashed before his eyes.
But I didn’t care. Because finally, we had the place.
Zane had taken James back to the pack, already switching into strategic mode, locking down the borders, alerting the warriors and preparing for the mess we were about to ignite.
I trusted him. I trusted him with everything.
I wanted to look after Kaia myself because I couldn’t hand it to anyone else.
Lucien watched the road ahead of us, arms folded.
He’d volunteered to come without hesitation, and I would’ve refused if I weren’t desperate enough to take help from the devil himself.
“You sure you don’t want to wait for Ronan and Calder?” he asked quietly,
His tone wasn’t mocking. It was… cautious. Almost like he actually gave a damn whether I made it out of this alive.
“No,” I growled. “Every minute we waste is a minute Tarick has her.”
Lucien exhaled slowly. “Theo…. going in without backup is suicide.”
“Then I’ll die trying,” I snapped.
His head turned sharply toward me, something dark passing through his eyes.

“You won’t die in there, Theo. Not while I’m with you.”
I didn’t answer and looked straight ahead.
I have to get to my mate. Save her, and kill anyone who stands in the way.

Ronan and Calder were mobilising from the pack. They’d meet us, but not fast enough for my liking.
Lucien drummed his fingers once against his thigh. “James broke fast,” he said. “It’s a little too fast.”
I didn’t look at him. “Meaning?”
“Meaning Tarick Moss is expecting us.”
A cold curse tore from my throat. “Then he won’t be disappointed.”
Lucien’s mouth twitched into something that wasn’t quite a smile.
“Good. Because I’m in the mood to disappoint him.”
The air between us turned razor-sharp, and the road narrowed.
And then, my wolf surged, slamming against my ribs as a scent hit me -sharp and metallic.
Fear and Pain lingered, and my heart sank.
I slammed the brakes so hard the tyres screeched across the dirt.
Lucien’s eyes snapped toward me. “Theo-?”
“She’s close.” My heart beat faster than I could shake off. “We can walk there, to avoid alerting the men”, I said, voice cracking.
Lucien nodded once.
We got out of the car and sneaked through the bushes until we saw a house a few miles away from the car.
Standing before the dimly lit house, I looked at Lucien, and he nodded at me, ready.
Lucien glanced at me once. “On your signal.”
I gave it, and we moved.
We scaled the fence, landing soundlessly inside the perimeter. Two guards down before they even knew we were there.
We moved swiftly and snapped their necks, and the bodies were dragged into the ground.
Every step closer to the building made my pulse spike.
My wolf paced under my skin, furious and desperate, ready to tear down walls with its teeth.

Hold on, Kaia. I’m coming.
We reached the metal door. Lucien picked the lock in seconds, and we slipped inside.
Dark hallways, smelling like blood. And a smell that made my stomach drop, Kaia.
Her scent filled my nose, and I felt her fear gripping me.
I surged forward, losing control for a second, and then the lights blasted on.
A deafening metallic clang echoed from above.
Lucien swore. “Theo..Move!”
Too late, a steel cage dropped from the ceiling, slamming around us with brutal force.
Bars crackled with electricity. The shock sent pain ripping through my muscles.
I grabbed the bars, and agony exploded up my arms, hurling me backwards.
Lucien hit the opposite wall, choking on a growl.

Boots thundered, and half a dozen men rushed in. They raised their guns, dripping with wolfsbane dust.
Lucien spat blood. “It’s a trap.”
We fought anyway. launched at them through the bars, snarling and tearing at whoever got close.
But the shock hit again, and I dropped to a knee, gasping.
Lucien slumped beside me, breathing hard.
And then, the door at the end of the hall opened.
And a cold-faced man came through, and when I looked closely, the man turned out to be Tarick Moss, the tyrant Alpha, who wreaked havoc those years ago.
He was alive, and still as evil as ever.
He walked in, smirking with his Hands in his pockets as if he owned the world.
His men stepped aside instantly.
“Well,” Tarick drawled, amused. “You two were either very brave or very stupid.”
I lunged at the bars. They shocked me again until my vision went white.
Tarick chuckled. “Actually, no. Let’s call it what it is. Just stupid.”
Lucien growled, but Tarick ignored him. His eyes locked onto mine.
