Chapter 215
–Tarick–
When I walked after getting Silas’ message, Kaia was reacting.
There was a spark all over her, and she was struggling.

The moment Silas told me she was reacting, excitement shot through me so violently I nearly laughed in the man’s face.
My Years of work were finally paying off, and finally, the girl decided to wake up.
Her powers haven’t fully woken up.
But a crack was enough for me to confirm the truth I had always known: Kaia was the key.
And some keys only needed pressure to turn.
I stepped into her cell, expecting tears and fear, maybe screams.
What I found instead?
Kaia was on her knees, her eyes dazed, her skin faintly glowing like embers beneath her flesh.
Magnificent.
Her head snapped toward me. She tried to hide the glow, scrubbing her hands against her arms.
Still pretending she’s normal and not the weapon I spent years hunting for.
“Well, well,” I purred, clapping once. “Look at you.”
She flinched, which delighted me.
“Get her up,” I ordered, and my men rushed in.
She struggled weakly, but even that was precious. Tension surged through her, little sparks flickering again, and my smile widened.
Beautiful. She looked raw and Untamed.
She wasn’t ready to break yet, which meant I needed leverage.
And fate, so kind or better still, twisted fate-had delivered me the perfect leverage on a silver platter.
“Bring them,” I said to my men, unable to hide the amusement in my voice.
Moments later, Zander and Kade dragged Theo in-bloodied, limp, but still conscious enough to glare murder at me.

Lucien followed, forced to his knees, his fangs elongated, eyes burning with cold fury.
Theo’s chest rose and fell in shallow breaths. His entire body trembled with fury and pain.
Good. Pain made him predictable, and that was good for me.
Kaia’s breath hitched when she saw him.
She scrambled, and panic shot through her.
The bond reacted again, dangerous and lovely little sparks crawling over her skin.
I stepped between them, savouring it.
“You two are adorable,” I said with a grin. “Tragic, really. Brave, stupid, and so easy to break.
Theo struggled against his restraints. “Let her go, Tarick. Take out your anger on me”
I backhanded him, hard enough to shut him up.
Blood splattered on the floor.
Kaia gasped, another flicker of power balled in her palms.

I leaned close, whispering in Theo’s ear, “Oh, I will take it out on you. Again and again until I’m satisfied with the result.”
Then I straightened, turning to Kaia with slow and dramatic satisfaction.
“But she, my dear Theo, is far more important.”
Kaia struggled against the guards. “Why? What do you want from me?”
I laughed with delight. She really had no idea, did she?
“You?” I said, stepping closer, grabbing her chin. “You are everything. You are the centre and the final piece of my puzzle”
Her eyes widened, fear trembling through her shoulders.
Theo growled, letting out a raw, helpless gruff, and I savoured it.
“And you know what helps a dormant ability fully awaken?” I whispered, brushing her cheek with a mock- gentle thumb.
She stiffened.
“Witnessing someone you care about… break.”
She tried to jerk away. “Don’t-don’t you touch him!”

Theo strained so violently that the chains rattled.

“Oh, sweetheart,” I said, stepping back so I could see all three of them-my masterpiece waiting to happen.
“You’re going to watch.” I gestured to my men. “And you’re going to react. And if you dont, he dies”
The room filled with excited, cruel anticipation as they forced Kaia forward and shoved Theo and Lucien to their knees.
I inhaled, bliss washing over me.
This was it-the beginning of the end, and the start of my rise to power.
I stepped away from the spectacle.
I looked at Kaia trembling while they beat Theo until he started bleeding.
Let the fear settle in their bones, and I needed one last chess piece on the board.
I dialled the number belonging to the man who ruined everything, who exiled me, humiliated and forced me to live a shameful life for years.
Alpha Mathew Nightshade.
The call connected.
“Who is this?” Mathew’s voice was sharp, already on edge.
I let a slow smile curl my lips.
“Ah, Mathew. Still pretending you don’t recognise your old mistakes when they breathe down your neck?”
“Taruck, you bastard,” Mathew growled. “What have you done?”
“Finally,” I sighed, savouring the sound of his rage, “some recognition.”
“Where is my daughter?” His voice cracked.”What have you done with her? I will kill you if anything happens to my daughter. You are worse than the devil, Tarick”
I could hear him shatter inside, and that sent shoots of fire into my heart.
I closed my eyes briefly, letting the joy of it roll through me.
