The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 1016

"I am not letting anything happen to him," Leilani murmured.

Remembering the gentle, doting way the old man had always treated her, a sharp pang of sorrow twisted in her chest. Her final words felt less like a reassurance to the panicked doctor, and more like a sacred oath to herself.

Out in the hallway, absolute chaos had erupted. The bodyguards were dragging Talbot and Reese away, while the couple thrashed and screamed obscenities.

Just then, the front doors burst open. Letty and the head butler, Jarvis, had rushed over from the Fulton family estate. They froze, stunned by the sheer madness unfolding in the foyer.

Letty’s eyes darted past the struggling couple and landed straight on the unconscious patriarch in the bedroom.

"Dad!" she cried out.

Her gaze then fell on the bloodied, imposing figure of her son standing near the bed. The shock hit her like a physical blow. Her knees buckled, and a maid had to scramble to catch her before she hit the floor.

She stumbled frantically toward the bed, where Leilani was bent over the old man.

"Callahan? Leilani? You... the news said you died in Northern Myanor!" Letty sobbed, completely overwhelmed. "What is happening?! What happened to Dad?!"
