Letty had never cared if the company went to Callahan's branch or Talbot's branch. What made her blood run cold was the sheer sociopathy of it all. Talbot hadn't even bothered to notify the family of Callahan's 'death' before broadcasting it on the national news to force a corporate takeover.
"Don't you dare frame us, Letty!" Reese screamed back, a frantic, wild look in her eyes. "And you, Callahan! What gives you the right to accuse us of harming him? You just walked in here! You have zero proof! You're framing us!"
Having caught her breath, Reese realized Callahan had only walked in *after* the old man passed out. They couldn't prove a thing. It was their word against his.
A stunned silence fell over the room. No one could fathom how Reese could be this shamelessly evil.
"Do you really think we're all idiots?"
When a person hits the absolute limit of their fury, all they can do is laugh. Jarvis let out a dark, bitter chuckle, his eyes blazing with disgust as he looked at Reese's smug, defiant face.
"You want proof? I've got your proof right here."
Jarvis reached into his breast pocket and pulled out his smartphone. "Did you really think the Master was blind to your ambitions? He saw this coming! He instructed me to secretly record the surveillance feeds. I have every single thing you did to him on tape!"
Callahan snatched the phone from the butler's hand, his thumb swiping rapidly across the screen as he opened the encrypted video files.
The high-definition footage played. It clearly showed Talbot and Reese screaming abuse at the frail old man, roughly shoving him back against the headboard, and maliciously yanking a glass of water away from his trembling hands.
The air pressure in the room seemed to drop drastically. The murderous intent radiating off Callahan was palpable.
