The Real Heiress Is Coming Back (Hannah Carter) novel Chapter 204

Chapter 204 Steal Someone Else’s Girl

The elevator was packed with three big shots and the operator.

And those three? Yep, it was the trio: Barnaby, Finneus and Tristan.

Barnaby froze for a second when he saw Hannah and Candy standing at the elevator doors.

His first thought was, ‘What’s Hannah doing here?’

Then he felt a pang of guilt, after all, he’d told Hannah he was heading back to the Thole family.

Tristan was watching the whole thing unfold with a smirk. “Uh-oh, Barnaby, you’re in trouble now. Hannah’s here doing a spot check on you.”

But soon enough, they all realized something was off, Hannah was practically being propped up by Candy, looking absolutely hammered, her eyes unfocused and dreamy.

Candy sneakily jabbed Hannah with her elbow, thinking, ‘Come on, girl, wake up.’ Then she whispered, “Hey, sis, pull yourself together.”

But Hannah was totally wasted and had no clue what was happening. She shoved Candy aside, staggered into the elevator, nearly lost her balance, and Barnaby reached out just in time to steady her.

Hannah gripped Barnaby’s hand to keep herself upright, then looked up, right into a face so outrageously handsome, even the gods would be jealous.

She gave a silly grin and said, “Hehe, hey handsome, you look amazing. Smile for me, will ya?”

As she said it, she reached out, trying to touch his face.

The elevator operator was scared stiff. ‘Where did this hopeless flirt come from? Is she out of her mind, messing with Barnaby like that? She must have a death wish!’

Tristan burst out laughing. “Wow, so this is the real you, Hannah!”

Finneus grinned. “Didn’t think I’d live to see Barnaby get hit on like this.”

Candy just shook her head. ‘Girl, you’re gonna wake up tomorrow and wish you

Barnaby didn’t know what to say.

hadn’t.’

“Wow, your skin’s really nice,” Hannah giggled, giving Barnaby’s cheek a squeeze and poking it for good measure. “But you know what? My boyfriend’s still hotter! Hehe~”

Barnaby was speechless.

‘Just how much did this girl have to drink?’ he wondered.

The elevator operator was freaking out. ‘She’s got a boyfriend and she’s still flirting with Barnaby right in front of everyone? Is she crazy?’

‘She’s really asking for trouble, messing with Barnaby like that,’ he thought.

He quickly said, “Sorry, Mr. Thole, I’ll get her out of here right now.”

Just as he was about to haul this wild girl out, he froze when he saw Barnaby just pull her into his arms instead.

The elevator operator just gaped, totally out of words.

‘Wasn’t Barnaby supposed to be immune to women?’ he thought.

‘And didn’t he have that whole germaphobe thing going on?’ he wondered.

“Get out,” Barnaby snapped, his voice icy cold. The temperature in the elevator seemed to plummet.

The elevator operator shuddered, his legs turning to jelly as he practically bolted out of there.

“Heh, Hannah’s all yours now,” Candy chuckled, then slipped away before anyone could stop her.

Finneus and Tristan shared a glance, both chiming in, “We’ve got another round to catch. See ya.”

They hurried off too. Once Finneus was out of the elevator, he made sure to call Ronin, telling him to come pick up Hannah.

When the elevator hit the first floor, Barnaby whipped off his jacket and dropped it right over Hannah’s head. As soon as the doors slid open, he scooped her up, carrying her like a bride.

Suddenly, everything went dark for Hannah, and the next thing she knew, she was being lifted off the ground. She started wriggling and protesting.

“Let go of me! Where are you taking me? I’ve got a boyfriend, okay? He’s got a mean punch! If you don’t let me go, I’ll totally

call my boyfriend to come kick your ass!”

Her commotion instantly drew a crowd of curious stares.

“Mr. Thole is actually carrying a woman in his arms!” someone exclaimed.

“Wait, she’s got a boyfriend? Is Mr. Thole really trying to steal someone else’s girl?” another person blurted out.

“So this is Mr. Thole’s type, huh,” someone else snickered.

“Aren’t the Thole family and the Reese family supposed to be tying the knot soon? Mr. Thole hooking up with a girl right now is kinda wild, isn’t it?” someone else chimed in.

“Why pick some party girl over Daisy Reese? Seriously, what is Barnaby thinking?” someone sneered.

People started chattering nonstop, phones out everywhere, snapping pics and filming like crazy.

Barnaby’s face was stone cold as he hugged Hannah tighter, burying her face in his chest, and made a beeline out of there.

At Miracle Healer Clinic. Barnaby carried Hannah all the way back to the west wing. She’d been causing a scene the whole time, but finally, she tired herself out and passed out cold.

He wiped her face and hands with a warm towel, then got her changed into her pajamas.

He looked down at her sleeping face, so innocent and beautiful, with an unspoken allure that was impossible to ignore.

Barnaby never would have guessed Hannah could turn into a totally different person after a few drinks. If she had ended up with some random guy that night… God only knew what kind of trouble she could have gotten into.

‘No way in hell am I ever letting Hannah go out drinking alone again, Barnaby thought, his jaw clenched tight.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Ronin stood outside, not daring to come in, and called out, “Barnaby, should I take care of the news?”

If they didn’t shut this down, tomorrow’s headlines would be all about Barnaby stealing someone’s girl and blatantly getting in the middle of someone else’s relationship.

Ronin already had all the media and bar owners on standby; a single word from him, and he would have locked down the story before it spread.

Barnaby’s voice sounded from inside the room, low and calm, “No need.”

He didn’t have to do a thing, someone else would take care of it.

The video from the bar landed in Edmund’s WhatsApp in no time. His face turned stormy. “Seriously, what the hell is this?!”

‘The Thole family and the Reese family are about to tie the knot, and Barnaby pulls something like this right now? He’s gotta be doing it on purpose!’ he thought to himself.

Edmund wasted no time, he ordered his people to buy out every media outlet and make sure the story never saw the light of day.

If this news got out, forget about the marriage, Barnaby would drag the Thole family’s name through the mud!

No way was this story ever going to be published!

The story never got published, but the video was already making the rounds in high society WhatsApp groups.

The video even ended up in a Kinswood socialite group chat that Daisy was in. After leaving the Scepter House, she got into her car and clicked on the video.

All she could see was Barnaby striding out, looking totally dominant as he carried a struggling woman in his arms.

The woman’s head was covered by a jacket, so her face was completely hidden.

But Daisy was sure it wasn’t Hannah, she’d seen Hannah at the auction earlier that night.

As soon as Daisy realized Barnaby was just toying with Hannah, all the jealousy she’d been holding onto instantly vanished.

She exited the video and scrolled through the group chat to see what her friends were gossiping about.

Socialite 1: [I always thought Barnaby was immune to women, but turns out he just hadn’t met the one who could really get to him.]

Socialite 2: [I’m dying to know who this woman is. She’s got a boyfriend, and yet Barnaby still wants her?]

Socialite 3: [She must be some kind of vixen. Men really are just slaves to their hormones.]

Socialite 4: [Wait, didn’t Daisy say she was about to get engaged to Barnaby? So what’s he playing at now?]

Socialite 5: [Honestly, what’s going through his mind? Daisy’s got brains, beauty, and she’s even the Nameless Healer, but

he’s out chasing after some trashy girl.]

Socialite 3: [Isn’t it obvious? Barnaby would rather go for damaged goods than pick Daisy.]

Socialite 6: [Rumor has it, the whole engagement thing is just their parents trying to force it, Barnaby’s not interested at all. That’s why he’s hooking up with some random girl, just to mess with everyone.]

Socialite 1: [Maybe there’s some kind of quirk about Daisy that makes Barnaby go for a trashy girl instead?]

The comments from her fake friends in the group chat just kept getting nastier, and Daisy’s face turned stormy. Julie, sitting in the car with her, was startled by how dark her expression got.

“Daisy, you alright?” Julie asked, sounding a bit worried.

Daisy took a deep breath, swallowing her anger and forcing a smile. “I’m fine. Get someone to check who Barnaby left Nocturne Grand with tonight.”

Julie saw that smile and felt a chill run down her spine. “O-Okay.”
