The Real Heiress Is Coming Back (Hannah Carter) novel Chapter 275

Chapter 275 Lock You Up

Chapter 275 Lock You Up

Spencer wasn’t just some random guy, he’d served in the military, and back in the day, he and Barnaby used to go toe-to-toe. No way he’d get taken down that easily.

He blocked Barnaby’s punch with one hand and smirked. “You know the rule, never hit someone in the face, right?”

“Seriously, are you even human?” Barnaby snapped, then just threw another punch his way.

Barnaby had walked in just in time to see Spencer push Hannah down onto the table and kiss her, and the craziest part? Hannah didn’t even try to resist.

Hannah got up from the dining table and watched as the two guys brawled their way from the dining room into the living

room.

Both of them were seriously skilled, trading blows, each move aimed to take the other down. The living room was a total mess, stuff flying everywhere, and Hedy cowered behind Hannah’s feet, terrified.

They were supposed to be adults, but here they were, acting like a pair of kids in a schoolyard brawl, throwing punches over nothing.

Hannah couldn’t even get a word in edgewise, and with that sniper incident still weighing on her mind, she decided not to bother breaking them up. “You guys go ahead and fight, I’m leaving,” she said.

She picked up Hedy and headed for the door.

Barnaby was still burning with anger as he fought, but when he saw Hannah heading for the door, he just couldn’t pretend not to care, even if he was pissed off.

Suddenly, a plan flashed through his mind, and he instantly pulled back, dropping his guard.

Spencer sensed something was off, but his punch was already in motion. It was an easy shot for Barnaby to dodge, but instead, he just stood there, almost like he wanted to take the hit.

Spencer’s fist connected with the corner of Barnaby’s mouth.

Bang!

Barnaby slammed into the cabinet, sending a vase crashing to the floor in pieces.

Hannah paused in her tracks, turned around, and saw Barnaby had fallen to the floor. Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly set Hedy down and hurried over to help him. “Are you okay?”

Barnaby’s eyes darkened for a moment. Seeing Hannah so anxious about him cooled his temper a bit, and he figured he’d just let Spencer have that punch.

“I’m fine,” he said, wiping the blood from his mouth. “Careful, don’t step on the glass shards.”

Hannah saw the swelling on Barnaby’s mouth and frowned, the shot Spencer a look. “What the hell, Spencer?”

Spencer finally got to land a punch on Barnaby’s infuriating face, but instead of feeling good about it, he just felt like he’d been set up.

He hadn’t even hit him that hard.

Seeing how anxious Hannah was over Barnaby, it suddenly clicked, Barnaby had done it on purpose.

“Ouch, that hurts,” Spencer suddenly groaned, clutching his stomach and hunched over. “Pretty sure I cracked a couple ribs. Barnaby, did you have to hit so hard? Hannah, come on, check i’m about to kick the bucket here…”

Hannah just stared at him, speechless.

Barnaby saw right through Spencer’s act, but didn’t bother exposing him. He grabbed Hannah’s hand to pull himself up and, out of nowhere, said, “I’ll live, but he looks like he’s about to drop dead. Go see if he’s still breathing.”

Hannah shot him a surprised look. ‘Wasn’t he always the one freaking out whenever I talked to Spencer?’

‘Is he really this cool about it now that we’ve broken up?’ she wondered.

“Go ahead, I’m just a little sore. I can handle it, really. I’m not dying or anything, so don’t worry about me,” Barnaby said, trying to sound tough but coming off more pitiful than anything

He lowered his gaze, his lashes hiding his eyes, looking all weak innocent, and helpless, like he wasn’t the same guy who’d just been all cold and ready to throw down a second ago.

That familiar pitiful tone and look, Barnaby kne Successfully unlocked! card with Hannah, and she just couldn’t bring herself to be tough on him. It was so frustrating

Spencer couldn’t believe his eyes, he’d never seen Barnaby acte this before.

In his mind, Barnaby had always been the ruthless, disciplined, e-cold powerhouse with zero weak spots. Who would’ve thought he could pull off this whole soft and pitiful act?

Spencer glanced over at Hannah, suddenly feeling way more interested in her. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that taking her away would be like landing a direct hit of Barnaby’s weak spot.

With that thought, Spencer started groaning even louder “Ouch it hurts so much! Hannah, come check on me, please

She didn’t budge.

Seeing this, Barnaby smirked, like he was marking his territory. You’re not going over there, so I’m still the one you care about most, aren’t I?”

Hannah just gave his big hand, still clamped around her wrist, a flat look.

“Big words, huh? Why don’t you let go and actually let her come over?” Spencer cut in, unable to stand it anymore “See? If he can yell his head off like that, he’s obviously fine,” Barnaby said right away.

Hannah was speechless.

Spencer was just as stunned.

“Let’s go, Barnaby said, dragging Hannah with him as he steered her around the glass shards on the floor. He even made sure Hedy tagged along.

Hannah could feel how tight Barnaby was gripping her wrist, he was clearly pissed off now, and that whole pitiful act earlier was just an act.

Now that was flipping the script in a split second.

Barnaby shoved her into the passenger seat, and before Hannah could react, her jaw ached as his burning lips crashed down on hers, like he was branding her as his own, leaving her completely stunned.

Hannah tried to push him away, but his kiss only grew more possessive and punishing, as if daring her to resist.

Annoyed, Hannah bit him hard. Barnaby grunted in pain, but only reluctantly let her go. He licked his lips, voice rough and low. “Let another guy touch you again, and I’ll lock you up myself!”

With that, he slammed the car door shut, then opened the back door for Hedy, who was huffing and puffing as it trotted

over.

‘What the hell is even happening?’ Hannah thought, wanting to jump out of the car. But before she could make a move, Barnaby slid into the driver’s seat, hit the lock, and peeled out, leaving her no chance to escape.

Just then, Hannah’s phone buzzed with a new message.

She pulled it out and saw it was from Spencer.

[The guy tailing you is one of Barnaby’s men.]

Then another message came in, this time with a photo. It was the same guy in black Hannah had spotted at the park, and the background? Definitely the villa neighborhood.

Hannah’s heart skipped a beat as she glanced up at Barnaby.

His profile was sharp, every feature standing out. With his stubble gone, he was back to that clean, dangerously handsome look.

He pressed his lips together, the corner of his mouth still a bit swollen, still wearing that pissed-off look from earlier.

It was a face she’d thought she knew by heart, but now, it felt weirdly unfamiliar.

“How did you know I was here?” she asked.

Barnaby didn’t say a word. He kept one hand on the wheel, pulled out his phone, scrolled through it for a moment, then tossed it over to Hannah.

The screen showed a WhatsApp chat with Spencer. The latest message was a photo Spencer had sent over an hour ago. Hannah, busy cooking in the kitchen.

Hannah couldn’t make sense of what Spencer was up to. ‘Is he just trying to get between me and Barnaby?

‘Or is he actually looking out for me?’ she wondered.

Barnaby could feel Hannah’s eyes on him, but he stayed silent, waiting for her to say something. She didn’t

Hannah looked away, set his phone in the center console, and ned to stare out the window.

She started replaying that terrifying ambush from their last trip and the moment when Gemma got sniped. Now, this was the third time she’d been caught up in something deadly like th

Barnaby had saved her the first two times, but if it hadn’t been fr Spencer this time, she’d probably be dead by now. And it was only now that she realized she’d been under surveillance all along

A chill ran down Hannah’s spine.
