Chapter 317 Making Little Ones
Chapter 317 Making Little Ones
In the car on the way back, Hannah Carter ate the Hedy cake Barnaby Thole had brought, and finally felt human again.
When they got back to the courtyard house, she took a shower and was so tired she couldn’t even be bothered to dry her hair. She just collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.
When Barnaby Thole came back after feeding the piglet and cleaning up after it, he saw Hannah Carter was already out cold, her hair wrapped up in a towel.
He walked over and gently reminded her, “Honey, dry your hair before you sleep, or you’ll get a headache.”
Hannah didn’t budge. Barnaby sighed, grabbed the hair dryer, and hauled the extension cord over to help her out.
The hair dryer was roaring, but Hannah didn’t even stir. ‘That surgery must’ve really drained her, Barnaby thought, feeling a little sorry for her.
After he finished drying her hair, he tucked her in with the blanket, kissed her on the forehead, and slipped out.
Hannah slept for a whole day and night. When she finally opened her eyes, she saw Barnaby lying beside her in his pajamas, propped up on one elbow, his deep eyes fixed on her.
When he saw she was awake, his gaze shifted, and he said, “You’re finally awake.”
Hannah was left speechless.
‘Finally?’ Hannah thought, a little suspicious. ‘Did he really just like there watching me sleep for that long?’
‘Why does this suddenly feel a little creepy?’ she wondered.
“Why aren’t you asleep?” she asked, grabbing her phone from the nightstand. She glanced at the screen, it was midnight.
Barnaby leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Jet lag. Can’t sleep.”
Hannah pressed her hand against his chest as he leaned in. “Not even a little tired?”
“Nope,” he replied.
“Then how about we do something a little more interesting?” Hannah teased, her fingers hooking the edge of his robe. Her eyes curved into a playful smile, a hint of mischief dancing at the corners.
She was drop-dead gorgeous and totally flirty, like a little minx out to steal his soul.
Barnaby’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He was just about to pounce, but Hannah slipped off the other side of the bed before he could even touch her.
Barnaby was left speechless.
Barnaby suddenly felt like he’d just been played.
Before she walked out the door, Hannah glanced back, a wicked grin on her lips. “Come with me.”
“What kind of new trick are you up to now?” Barnaby raised an eyebrow, got up, and followed after her.
When he saw Hannah head into the study, he suddenly had a bad feeling about this.
And sure enough, his bad feeling was instantly confirmed.
Hannah pulled out a stack of design drafts from the drawer and spread them out on the desk. “Check out these designs ! made. I’m planning to develop a multi-functional Al medical robot.”
Working on the chip design and brainstorming with Percival about how to wake up Eric had really sparked some ideas for
her.
Lots of tech companies have pitched the idea of combining Al and robotics in the medical field, but no one’s actually made it happen yet.
She’d never really figured out what to major in before, but now she finally knew.
Barnaby was left speechless.
‘Looks like I really got played by this little troublemaker, he thought.
“So this is your idea of ‘something meaningful”?” he said, wrapping his arms around her from behind and giving her soft earlobe a teasing nibble.
“What else?” Hannah raised an eyebrow, then

“It’ll analyze patients’ health data and give them smart treatments, so doctors and nurses won’t be so swamped. My grandma won’t have to work herself to the bone either… Hey! Wat are you doing? Put me down!”
She didn’t even get to finish before Barnaby cradled her in his arms and started carrying her out.

Barnaby held her tight. “Nice idea, but it’s chill time now, no mo dunno, start working on a baby? Pretty sure that’s way faster th
work talk. Let’s do something I think is meaningful Like, I
building a robot”
Hannah’s cheeks went hot. “Quit messing around! Who said I want to make a baby with you? Put me downt
Barnaby grinned, “If not with me, then who? Huh? Your childhood betrothed?”
Seriously, why is this guy so possessive? And he holds a grudg like crazy! Hannah thought.
“Can you stop getting jealous over nothing? It was just some of joke his dad cracked with my grandma,” Hannah explained
“Even jokes are off-limits!” Barnaby said, dead serious.
Hannah was speechless. “Why are you so ridiculously petty?”
“I’ve always been like this. There’s only room for you in my heart So don’t go making those dumb jokes with anyone else.”
Seeing how serious he was getting, Hannah was afraid he’d never let it go, so she quickly tried to smooth things over Yeah, yeah, whatever you say.”
Her half-hearted response didn’t bother Barnaby at all. In fact, it just gave him the perfect excuse to keep pushing his fuck.
“So, does that mean you’re agreeing to make a baby with me?” teased.
Hannah was just about to tell him to get lost, but before she could even get the word out, his lips were on hers….
*****
Early the next morning, Hannah woke up hungry. As soon as she tried to move, she realized she was aching all over, like she’d been hit by a truck.
‘That jerk must’ve been saving up all that pent-up energy from his business trip and unleashed it on me last night!’ she grumbled to herself.
Thinking about how she kept telling him to stop near the end, but Barnaby just wouldn’t give her a break, Hannah was seriously annoyed.
‘That jerk is getting way out of line!’ she fumed.
‘He never used to be like this!’ she thought.
Her stomach let out another loud growl, and Hannah tried to wriggle free from Barnaby’s arms to get up.
Barnaby had already heard her stomach rumbling. “Steak or noodles? I’ll whip something up for you.”
“I want those green mugwort rice cakes,” Hannah said.
Barnaby blinked. “What’s that?” He Googled it and realized it was some southern sticky rice treat made with mugwort. No way he could make that.
He scrolled through every nearby restaurant, no luck. So he just called someone to have them airlifted in from the south.
“Can’t get those green cakes around here, so I’ll whip up some noodles for you instead, Barnaby said.
Hannah just rolled over, showing him the back of her head, totally ignoring him.
Barnaby just gave her a look and said nothing.
Half an hour later, when Barnaby came back with the noodles, Hannah was already up and dressed.
Not long after, there was a knock at the door. When she opened it, it was Joel, dragging a suitcase behind him. “Morning, my fairy! I brought you some herbs, and my mom whipped up a batch of those green mugwort rice cakes for you. I remember you were obsessed with them back in the day,” Joel said, fishing a lunchbox out of his bag and popping it open. Inside were rows of neat, jade-green rice cakes, chewy and tender, the scent was mouthwatering. They’d been kept in the fridge, but with the heat, they were already getting a bit sticky.
Hannah had just been craving those green cakes, and Joel showed up with them like magic.
“Thanks” she said, grabbing them without a second thought, then headed straight to the kitchen to stearn them up.
Joel grinned when Hannah accepted the box. “No problem! My hom knows you love the savory ones, and your grandma likes the sweet ones, so she made both kinds. Make sure to say some for her, okay?”
“Okay, Hannah replied.
Barnaby watched as Hannah ignored the noodles he’d made and went straight for Joel’s green rice cakes. He couldn’t help but grumble, “Are those sticky lumps really that tasty?”
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Hannah said.
Soon, the green cakes were warmed up. Hannah brought them the table and handed Barnaby a pair of chopsticks “Want to give them a try?”
“No way!” Barnaby scowled at her.

‘Like I’d ever eat anything that guy made, Hannah thought, rolling her eyes.
“Even if you wanted some, tough luck! My mom made these for her son’s wife, not for you!” Joel teased, making sure Barnaby couldn’t get his hands on them.
Hannah picked up a green cake with her chopsticks, blew on it to cool it down, and was just about to take a bite when
Barnaby suddenly leaned in, grabbed her hand, lifted it up, and snatched the whole cake right out of her chopsticks with his
teeth!
