Chapter 316 She’s My Fiancee

Chapter 316 She’s My Flancée

Jeol happened to spot Hannah in Barnaby’s arms, and his eyes it up instantly “My Fairy! I knew you’d be here!”

He grinned, showing off his canine teeth, looking goofy like a big kid.

But his happiness only lasted a few seconds before it suddenly hit him, Barnaby was holding Hannah!

He hurried over and said, “Who are you? Let go of my Fairy!”

When Hannah saw who it was, she was speechless. Joel had actually shown up here after all. Now she wasn’t just tired and starving, she had a headache on top of it.

Barnaby was a bit taller than Joel and looked at him askance, a mocking glint in his eyes. “Yours?”

“That’s right!” Joel insisted, dead serious. “She’s my Fairy! We’ve known each other forever! When we were kids, my dad and her grandma even promised us to each other. She’s supposed to marry me when she’s older! So yeah, she’s my fiancée!”

As soon as Joel blurted out “childhood betrothal” and “fiancée, Hannah could feel Barnaby’s aura grow icier by the second. He’s totally blowing this out of proportion! Hannah thought to herself.

It was just something from when they were kids. She used to tag along with her grandma to sell herbs to Joel’s dad, and after they got familiar, Joel’s dad would joke with her grandma about becoming in-laws and setting up a childhood

betrothal for their kids.

It was just a joke between the grown-ups, nothing serious!

Christopher’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. ‘A fiancé? Seriously?!’

‘First a boyfriend shows up, and now a fiance? What is this, a soap opera?’ he thought.

“So, who the heck are you? Hands off my fiancée!” Joel shot back, sounding even more worked up.

He furrowed his brow, clearly getting antsy, looked like he was about to shove Barnaby away, but hesitated, worried he might actually hurt someone.

Seeing Joel get all flustered, Barnaby gave him an icy smirk and said, stressing every syllable, “Her Boyfriend.”

He made sure to draw out each word, leaving no doubt. She was his, and he wasn’t about to let anyone forget it.

Joel was so shocked he just froze, dropping the white roses he was holding right onto the floor.

Joel started to whine, his voice getting louder and more dramatic. “My Fairy, you really got yourself a boyfriend? Why didn’t you wait for me? Are you abandoning me? How could you just leave me behind? I won’t let you! You can’t just get rid of me…

Hannah’s head was pounding from Joel’s nonstop whining. She wriggled out of Barnaby’s arms and snapped, “Shut up! Keep yapping and I’ll ship you back down south myself!”

Joel zipped his mouth shut, wheeled his suitcase over, and gave Hannah those puppy-dog eyes. “But I brought you the herbs you wanted.”

Hannah couldn’t help but sigh, she’d told him a hundred times to just mail them, but nope, he had to deliver them in person. Still, he’d made the effort, so she couldn’t really say no. “Thanks Just swing by my clinic tomorrow and leave them there. I’ m wiped out. Whatever it is, let’s talk after I get some sleep.”

“Can I stay at your place? I don’t mind crashing on the couch or even the floor. I don’t know anyone in Kinswood, what if I get lost out there?” Joel pleaded, sounding genuinely worried.

Barnaby cut right between them, blocking Joel without hesitation. “Forget it. My kid’s already claimed the couch.”

Joel’s jaw nearly hit the floor. “You’ve got a kid? And you’re still going after my fiancée?”

He slipped past Barnaby and took Hannah by the arm. “My Fairy he’s got a kid! How can you even be with him? I’m telling you, he’s trouble. He just lied to me, said you weren’t here.

“I even asked the nurse and she said you were here, so how could he say that? He was just trying to trick me!

“If he’d lie to me, he’ll lie to you too. Don’t go with him, I won’t let you! You can’t be with him…” Joel whined, sounding even more desperate.

Barnaby just gave him a look and said nothing.

‘Man, this guy never shuts up!’ Barnaby grumb’

“Just zip it for a sec,” Hannah said, raising her 1. thought.

She borrowed Barnaby’s phone and booked him a hotel. “I got you a room, go on, you can find your own way there.”

Joel was a little bummed he couldn’t go back with Hannah, but the irritation on her face was obvious. He knew not to push

his luck, if he kept pestering her, she’d probably freeze him out for good. So he backed off, playing it smart.

“Hehe, I knew it. My Fairy, you always treat me the best! Joel said with a goofy grin.

Barnaby was left speechless.

‘Unbelievable. My own girlfriend just used my phone to get a hotel for another guy. Am I supposed to be cool with that? Barnaby grumbled to himself, feeling both annoyed and a little jealous.

Christopher was stunned. ‘Holy crap, you can actually do that?”

He immediately squeezed in. “Hey, I want a room too! I’ve got nowhere to crash either!”

Hannah shot him a look, and Christopher quickly added, “My dad laid down the law tonight, no way I’m going home until I bring him a daughter-in-law.”

Hannah thought, ‘And how exactly is that my problem?’

“Hey, I’m the one who’s really homeless here! You woke Eric up, so now the Lynch family doesn’t need me anymore. That means you gotta take responsibility for me!” Spencer Lynch jumped right into the chaos, totally stirring the pot.

‘… Seriously?’ Hannah thought, utterly done with these guys.

Barnaby’s forehead vein throbbed as he snatched the phone from Hannah. “No place to stay, huh? Fine, what kind of room do you all want? I’ll just book them all for you right now.”

By now, Eric had already been moved from the OR to his hospital room. Hannah couldn’t be bothered with these guys anymore, so she just turned and headed for the locker room, leaving Barnaby to deal with the chaos.

“Presidential suite,” Christopher blurted out, not holding back at all.

Barnaby searched up the fanciest room and said, “Your ID and phone number.”

Christopher rattled them off without missing a beat.

Barnaby tapped away and handed the phone back. “Done. Go on.”

A second later, Christopher’s phone buzzed with the hotel confirmation.

Christopher couldn’t believe Barnaby actually went through with it. He got all excited and opened the message to see what kind of hotel he’d landed.

The top part was in Thalvarin, which Oliver totally blanked on, so he scrolled down to the Zirenthis. “Presidential suite at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai!”

His first reaction? ‘Whoa, Barnaby’s got some serious flex!’

But then, he realized something was way off.

Christopher burst out, “Bro, you expect me to fly to Dubai right now? There’s no way I’d even make it in time to crash there!” And get this, Barnaby only booked it, didn’t pay a dime. The whole bill was dumped on Christopher!

Spencer hadn’t even handed over his ID, yet he still got a text. He glanced at it.

“The Sandstone Hotel in Africa?!”

Seeing that the other two got booked at random places around the globe, Joel hurriedly pulled out his phone to check his own reservation.

Phew, at least his was still in Kinswood.

In the locker room, Hannah pulled off her surgical cap and reached behind to undo the ties of her sterile gown.

She fumbled with the straps and ended up making a stubborn knot she just couldn’t get loose. Right then, the door opened When she realized it was Barnaby, Hannah stayed facing away from him and gestured over her shoulder. “Could you untie this for me?”

Barnaby walked over, and from his angle, he caught a glimpse of her slender, fair neck, so elegant and swan-like, it made his Adam’s apple bob unconsciously. For a second, he was completely mesmerized.

Even with her scrubs on, Barnaby couldn’t help but think she locked absolutely stunning.

“Can’t get it undone?” Hannah waited a moment, but when Barnaby didn’t move, she glanced back, only to catch him

staring at her, those deep, unreadable eyes filled with a raw, unmistakable hunger.

At the same time, the fingers that were supposed to be untying her gown suddenly tightened around the straps.

“Kiss me, and I’ll untie you,” Barnaby murmured, his voice low and husky, sending a shiver down her spine.

His voice was so magnetic and dripping with desire, it was so seductive her ears practically got pregnant just listening to it.

…Seriously?’ Hannah thought, utterly done with these guys.

This dog of a man, does he really think I don’t see right through him? Hannah grumbled to herself, fighting the urge to roll

her eyes.

If she gave him what he wanted, she could kiss her freedom goodbye tonight.

“Stop messing around! I’m wiped out…” Hannah tried to protest but before she could get the words out, Barnaby leaned in and stole a kiss right from her lips, hot, urgent, and impossible to resist.

His kiss was deep and hungry, lingering on and on, leaving her breathless and dizzy

Hannah’s mind was spinning, barely able to catch her breath. Only when she was on the verge of suffocating did Barnaby finally let her go, like he hated to stop.

“I’ll spare you for now,” Barnaby murmured, his voice low and dangerous. “But once you’ve had some rest, we’re not done yet.”

Hannah was still lightheaded from the kiss. “Settle what score?

Barnaby gave a cold, mocking laugh. “Oh, you really have no clue? My fiancée.”

Hannah was stunned into silence.

‘Will this ever stop?!’ Hannah groaned inwardly, ready to lose it.
