Chapter 112 Stairwell Brawl
Everyone around covered their mouths, staring at Zora in shock.
“How dare you slap me, Zora!”

A burning sting spread across Jolie’s cheek. Her eyes widened, and she lunged straight at Zora, ready to hit her back.
Hallie quickly pulled Zora behind her.
Jolie crashed forward into them, and Tessa instinctively stepped in to help.
Before anyone noticed, Zora had grabbed a handful of Jolie’s hair.
“Ah!”
Jolie let out a shrill scream.
Tessa shoved Zora without thinking.
“Zora!”
Hallie gasped and kicked Tessa away.
Jolie snatched a fistful of Hallie’s hair right back, and pain flashed across Hallie’s face.
Seeing what Jolie had done, Zora grabbed her hair in return and tugged it hard.
“Zora! Why’d it turn into a fight?”
Easton and Felix’s voices came from behind them.
In an instant, the stairwell descended into total chaos.
Students from Class 19 jumped in against those from Class 2.
Class 19 was the school’s international program, and they always stuck together.
They rushed to defend their classmates, while kids from Class 2 refused to stand by and watch their own get bullied, piling into the fray as well.
“Break it up! What in the world do you kids think you’re doing!”
Just as the brawl raged on, an infuriated roar cut through the noise.
“Split them apart at once! All of you! You’re absolutely out of line!”

Gordon Brooks, the school dean who’d been called over, felt his temples throbbing as he stared at the fighting crowd. He ordered the security guards behind him to pull everyone apart.
“You had no right to lay a hand on our classmates!”
Even after being held back, Easton lashed out with a kick toward the boys from Class 2.
“Easton! Cut that out this instant!”
The fifty-something-year-old dean shot him a sharp, angry glare.
“All of you, follow me to my office! You come here to study, not brawl like hooligans! You think you’re so tough, don’t you?”
He scanned the glowering students from both classes, fuming with anger.
Security herded the whole group together and marched them toward the dean’s office.
On the way, Zora noticed Hallie’s messy, tangled hair. She reached up gently to smooth it down.
“Hallie, I’m so sorry.”
She lowered her gaze, filled with guilt. If it weren’t for her, Hallie would never have gotten hurt.
“Hey, don’t worry about it. I’ve been dying to put Jolie in her place for ages. This felt long overdue.”
Hallie rolled her shoulders back, ran a hand casually through her disheveled hair, and looked thoroughly satisfied.
“Why didn’t you guys call us when the fight started? Look at you, you were almost losing.”
Easton and Felix walked over to them, eyeing the girls with exasperation.
They couldn’t believe the pair had started a fight without asking them to join in.
“It all happened out of nowhere. We didn’t have time to grab you guys.
“Besides, we definitely didn’t lose. I pulled out a ton of Jolie’s hair, and Zora already slapped her good. We came out ahead.”
Hallie waved it off casually.
“Still, we owe you two big time. We would’ve been outnumbered without your help. Everyone, lunch is on me today-let’s head over to Nocturne Restaurant later.”
Hallie turned and called out to her classmates walking behind them.

“Hell yeah, thanks, Hallie!”
“Count me in!”
“Appreciate the treat!”
The rest of Class 19 cheered in response.
The class was tight-knit, full of loyal guys who’d skipped their own lunch to jump into the fight without hesitation.
They’d completely overpowered Class 2 from start to finish.
It had been a satisfying win.
Class 2, on the other hand, looked utterly dejected.
They lacked the same loyalty as Class 19. Many had been dragged into the mess unwillingly, left bruised and defeated. Now they endured smug, mocking stares from Class 19, and quiet blame began falling on Jolie for starting the whole mess.
No one could understand why she’d gone out of her way to pick a fight with Class 19.
“Hallie!”
Hearing the crowd break into loud murmurs again, Gordon, who was striding ahead in a rage, whipped around and shouted straight at Hallie.
Hallie bit back a grin and fell silent at once.
The old man never stopped lecturing once he got started.

Class 19 quieted down too, though they whispered among themselves, teasing the deflated members of Class 2 with the proud air of clear victors.
“Zora, are you hurt at all?”
Hallie turned her attention back to Zora.
It had been total chaos just now, and she worried Zora might have gotten injured somehow,
She thought of Zora as such a sweet, gentle girl; it would break her heart if she’d gotten hurt.
“I’m fine, really. I’ll get you some healing ointment for those scratch marks on your face later.”
Zora truly hadn’t been hurt. Hallie had shielded her the whole time, and the rest of Class 19 had rushed over quickly, pushing her safely out of the scuffle before she could get caught up in it.

The only mess was her messy hair, tugged around in the chaos by someone unknown.
Her neat bun sat lopsided and askew atop her head, slipping loose with every step.
