“On the morning of July 5th, at nine o’clock sharp, Jolie picked up a jewelry delivery meant for Wendy from downstairs. She walked straight to my door and asked me to go with her to hand the piece over to Wendy. When we opened the box, the necklace inside was already broken.
“The necklace had been intact when the jewelry shop delivered it. It must have been broken while Jolie was on her way to find me. The damage happened sometime between nine and nine-oh-five.
“On the night of July 15th, at nine twenty-three, Anton came home from his law firm. I asked the household staff to prepare a calming herbal tonic for him and oversaw the whole process myself. Twenty minutes after the tonic was delivered to Anton, he started having diarrhea.
“Jolie immediately claimed I’d slipped something into his tonic. Soon after, white powder appeared outside my bedroom door, and a doctor confirmed it matched the substance found in Anton’s tonic.
“The powder was planted between nine thirty-eight and nine forty-one.
“On the morning of August 1st, at seven o’clock, I headed out to take out the trash. Jolie showed up out of nowhere and offered to do it for me. I turned her down and took the garbage downstairs myself. Yet later, torn-up bidding documents belonging to Yale turned up inside my trash bag.
“At noon on August 5th, Holden returned to the Knox Villa after a competition. He told the family someone had loosened the bolt on his motorcycle. Jolie claimed she’d seen me hanging
around his vehicle.
“I’d only walked past Holden’s parking spot while helping John tidy up the garden. I never went anywhere near the motorcycle, and I have no idea when the bolt was tampered with.
“Jolie wasn’t on guard against me, and many of her schemes aren’t as well-hidden as she thinks. Still, after what happened last time, she must have deleted the surveillance footage.”
Zora laid out every incident one by one.
She remembered every detail perfectly, for each underhanded trick had chipped away at her regard for the Knox family little by little.
The whole of Class 19 fell dead silent the moment Zora began speaking.
When she finished recounting everything, a heavy weight lifted from her chest.
Her heart felt hollow and light all at once.
Thinking back on all that had happened with the Knox family, she felt nothing but quiet detachment, no longer stirred by any emotion.

“Zora.” Her calm, quiet account tugged at everyone’s heartstrings. Hallie stepped quickly over to her. “Don’t worry. I’ve already gotten people on this. I’m not letting her get away with this one bit.”
“Someone’s deliberately digging all this back up,” Felix said thoughtfully. “If we look deeper, this is probably Jolie fighting back.”
“Does anyone have a laptop?”
Maya’s expression turned icy cold. She settled into her seat, her sharp gaze sweeping across the classroom.
“I’ve got one. Here you go, Maya.” A boy sitting in the back row handed over his laptop.
Maya sat down, slipped off her glasses, revealing a pair of eyes sharp and unyielding. Her slender fingers flew rapidly over the keyboard.
“Whoa-you know how to code?” A tech-savvy boy in the class recognized what she was doing right away.
“A little.” Without her glasses, Maya seemed to shed some invisible restraint, her whole presence sharper and more commanding, her tone calm and low-key.
“Of course you’d be a genius at this too,” someone murmured. “Top grades and now you’re killing it with coding.”
Everyone stared, unable to keep up with the speed of her flying fingers.
“Found him. Peyton from Class 3 is the one who posted those rumors on the campus forum.” Maya paused her typing. “Easton, Felix, you two handle this. I’ve sent all his info to your phones.”
On the screen, a photo and full personal details popped up. She tilted the laptop slightly so Easton and Felix could see clearly.
“Got it. We’re on it. This guy’s got some nerve, trying to mess with Zora again and again.”
Easton and Felix barely had time to marvel at Maya’s skill. The two memorized the details, grabbed his phone, and headed out.
“No way-you’re seriously incredible at this,” another classmate exclaimed.
Maya paid them no mind, her fingers already racing across the keyboard again.
“Are you hacking into the Knox Villa’s surveillance system?” The boy who’d lent her the laptop leaned in, adjusting his glasses as he watched lines of code scroll across the screen.

The whole class crowded around, alternating glances between the incomprehensible code and Maya’s quick, precise hands. Some who understood tech stared at the screen, utterly transfixed.
Zora looked over as well.
Moments later, Maya slowed her typing and stopped.
The laptop split into multiple live feed frames.
Zora froze when she saw what was displayed.
It was footage from inside the Knox Villa.
The first clip showed exactly what Zora had described-the moment Jolie knocked over the antique vase.
The feed stitched together angles from several different cameras, with no single clear full shot. Jolie really had chosen her angles with calculated precision.
