The Real Heiress's New Family Adored By All novel Chapter 153

Chapter 153 Hidden Family Ties

เรต

Their college professor once told them there was an alumni from the Hale family years ago. Members of the Hale family mastered an incredible healing skill known as the Eighteen Meridian Technique. Folks said anyone who could wield this technique was capable of snatching people back from the brink of death.

It could pull someone from the verge of passing away and grant them extra time to live.

Sadly, the professor added that this talented senior had passed away more than a decade ago. leaving no one alive who knew how to perform the ancient medical technique anymore.

If true heirs of the Hale family were around, curing Tessa would have been effortless.

Cedric had already reached out to the Hales, yet even they could do nothing to help.

Word got around that the visitor was the younger son from a collateral branch of the Hale family. Those from the side clans were never as skilled in medical practice as the direct Hale bloodline.

The Hale family now resided overseas, still holding onto their status and reputation purely thanks to the solid foundation laid by their direct ancestors long ago.

Listening to the regret in his teacher’s voice, Julian also felt deep sorrow.

Once a brilliant and outstanding young talent, his glorious life had faded away overnight.

Julian was straightforward and outspoken. Thanks to his close friendship with Kian, he treated Zora in a warm and easygoing manner.

“The Hale family?”

Zora fell into quiet thought the moment she heard the name. The Hale family and the Eighteen Meridian Technique…

Could this legendary skill be the exact same one her mentor had taught her?

From what Julian said, Tessa’s condition was not severe enough to require such powerful treatment. This exclusive technique was reserved for saving lives in critical moments, and using it drained one’s mental energy tremendously.

She could not help wondering if the skill they talked about matched the one she had learned.

More importantly, who exactly was her mysterious mentor? Could he possibly be part of the Hale bloodline?

Zora suddenly recalled the small carved token her mentor had given her in the past, which was engraved with the same symbol representing the Hale family.

Doubts began to swirl inside her mind.

She had never known her mentor’s full name or background, for he had never shared any personal information with her.

Now that she learned about the Hale family’s past, she started questioning his true identity.

Her mentor had once told her that only people from his own bloodline were able to master the Eighteen Meridian Technique, and aside from the two of them, no one else in the whole world knew how to practice it.

Was her mentor closely connected to the Hale family? If he truly belonged to them, maybe she could track him down through the Hale relatives.

Soon, she pushed this thought aside. Her mentor had clearly told her not to go looking for him, and she would never go against his words no matter how curious she became.

She firmly believed he had his own reasons for leaving. All she needed to do was wait patiently until he came back for her.

“That’s right, the Hales.” Julian nodded in reply. “They used to be one of the four most influential elite families in Seacrest, but they moved overseas 20 years ago. That’s why only three top prominent families remain in the city now.

“Zora, we’re here. This is Kian’s office. Let’s go in and wait.”

They reached the office while chatting.

Julian pushed the door open and led Zora over to Kian’s desk. He shared this office space with

Kian.

“Have a seat, I’ll get you some water.”

Julian grabbed a disposable cup and poured her a glass of water right away.

“Julian, have you had your meal yet? This portion is for you.”

Zora handed over one of the packed food containers to him.

Opal had prepared double servings, knowing two people worked inside this office.

“Wow, I didn’t expect there’d be food for me too! Thanks a lot, I haven’t eaten anything all day.”

Julian accepted the meal happily without hesitation. He had been swamped with work all afternoon and planned to grab food from the hospital cafeteria, until Kian asked him to pick Zora up.

“Did you eat already?” Julian sat down at his own desk and started chatting casually.

“I already had dinner.” Zora sat gently at Kian’s desk.

“Zora, you didn’t have to go out of your way to bring me food. I could have just grabbed something simple here.”

Kian walked back into the office shortly after. His soft gaze landed on Zora, brightening up with gentle affection.

“I’m free now that school’s out for break. Grandma said you’re always too busy to eat properly, so she sent me here to make sure you have a decent meal.”

Kian was wearing a white lab coat, which made his already gentle aura seem even softer. At times, Zora could sense faint similarities between Kian and her mentor, making her feel naturally comfortable and close around him.

“Grandma really worries too much,” Kian smiled helplessly.

“Hurry up and eat before the food gets cold.” Zora leaned forward and opened the meal boxes for him.

“You go ahead and eat first. I’m gonna walk around outside for a bit.”

Watching the two men start their meal, Zora noticed they kept discussing medical cases even while eating, fully caught up in work matters.

Feeling she had nothing to do here, she decided to step outside for a stroll.

“Sure thing. I’ll head home with you once I finish eating. Don’t wander too far off, and call me right away if anything happens.”

Kian had skipped meals all day long. Now that he finally had warm food to eat and most of his work finished, he could relax and enjoy his dinner peacefully.
