Leighton glanced briefly at her lips before quickly looking away. “I’ll go check if the soup is ready. You can come out to eat soon.”

With that, he turned and left the room.

Right then, her phone on the desk buzzed. Zora guessed it must be Jensen replying to her

messages.

She picked up the device, and sure enough, it was a text from Jensen.

He said he would send people to look into the matter right away.

Finally telling Jensen everything lifted a huge weight off Zora’s heart. She could leave all the follow-up matters for her cousin to handle.

She held no affection whatsoever for Wayne. Every time he looked at her, his gaze was full of disdain, sharp enough to hurt her feelings.

“There’s no way that’ll happen. Your cooking is way too good; you’ll definitely get tons of customers. I might even have to stand in line just to get a seat,” Zora replied earnestly.

“Then I won’t open a public shop at all. I’ll only cook meals just for you, so you’ll never need to line up.” Leighton looked down at her with soft affection in his eyes.

“What about your future wife then?” Zora took another two spoonfuls of chicken noodle soup, her cheeks rounding out cutely. She blinked and glanced over at him.

She still remembered him saying he learned cooking to win his future partner’s heart, and now she was getting to enjoy all those delicious meals first.

“I don’t plan on looking for anyone else anymore. I’ll only cook for you. Even if I end up all alone later on, I’ll just be happy as long as you come visit me often.”
