Chapter 231 Sudden Brawl

Evan spoke in a harsh, icy tone, glaring sharply at the group of lackeys beside him.

Most guests attending this party aimed to ingratiate themselves with Evan just to get White Jade Balm. Their minor family clans struggled greatly to purchase the balm on the open market. Knowing Evan was the second son of the Hale family, they tried to please him in hopes of obtaining the precious ointment.

Even so, they were all wary of the Sloan and Marlow families, daring not to act recklessly.

“Mr. Hale, fighting is strictly forbidden inside this restaurant. Any violation will get you blacklisted permanently.”

Seeing the situation turning ugly, a waiter hurried over to stop the conflict, with more staff rushing over soon after to mediate.

“I’m causing trouble today, so what can you possibly do to me?”

Evan roughly shoved the leading waiter away, his voice filled with disdain.

“The Hale family has truly fallen from grace. Raising someone with such appalling manners. Without the former head, your family amounts to nothing at all.”

Hallie stepped forward at once to steady the staggering waiter.

“Say that again! I’ll fucking kill you two nasty bitches, you believe that?” Enraged by the insult about his family’s declining status, Evan pointed straight at Hallie.

“Try laying a finger on me if you dare.”

Hallie stared coldly at the arrogant Evan, grabbed his pointing wrist, and twisted it hard.

“Ah!” Evan let out a shrill cry, his face flushing bright red from sharp pain. “Let go of me!”

The crisp sound of bones twisting echoed clearly across the room, making everyone present jump in fright, quite a few people subconsciously stepping backward.

“Evan!” Ryn hurried forward and pulled him away forcefully.

Another painful scream burst out of Evan’s mouth.

“Hurry up and attack her! If anything happens to me, none of you will get away unscathed!”

Clutching his injured wrist, Evan roared hoarsely at his followers.

None of them had expected things to escalate so quickly, hesitating over whether to step in.

They never thought Evan would be so incompetent-bold enough to pick a fight yet utterly powerless against Hallie.

“Are you certain you want to go against the Sloans, the Marlows, and the Pierces all at once?”

Hallie shot them a cold, mocking glance.

All those who had been ready to charge froze in their tracks. Several cowards even slipped away secretly while no one was watching.

“Move now, and every single one of you gets a jar of White Jade Balm!”

Furious at his cowardly followers for being intimidated by a single woman, Evan’s eyes blazed with rage.

“I’m right here backing you up! What are you scared of? Acting like cowards in front of a lady! How will you ever hold your heads high in social circles? It’s just two women. Do you really think the Sloan family will start a full-scale feud over this?”

Tempted by the precious ointment and stirred up by his taunts, Evan’s lackeys finally made their move.

“How dare you lay hands on Evan! You two think you can bully us freely? We’ll teach you a proper lesson!”

“Get her!”

Nearly 20 men swarmed forward all at once.

“Zora, stay back! Run if you can, head for the private room or straight outside, and call Leighton right away.”

Hallie spoke sharply to Zora, kicking a green-haired guy named Luka away the moment he lunged over.

She was more than capable of fighting them off alone, yet her top priority was keeping Zora safe. More men charged in, and she struck one man hard on the neck with the edge of her palm.

Painful cries and groans rang out nonstop, with many others scrambling to dodge the chaos.

Amid the messy scuffle, Hallie still managed to hold her ground perfectly while shielding Zora tightly behind her.

“Seize that other girl! I want her alive!”

Evan’s lewd gaze locked onto Zora, who had been kept safe by Hallie this whole time.

His vulgar words instantly darkened Hallie’s expression.

She used one person’s shoulder as leverage to leap into the air, then delivered a fierce kick straight onto Evan’s face, who hid in the rear.

Evan let out another agonized wail, clutching his mouth tightly in agony.

Landing right in the middle of the crowd, Hallie was immediately surrounded by a dozen attackers closing in fast. Her expression turned icy cold as she kicked away incoming foes and twisted every fist thrown her way.

She took a solid punch to the shoulder in the process, but swiftly flipped the attacker over her shoulder and slammed him onto the floor.

“Damn it, this woman is ruthless!”

Everyone’s anger flared up fiercely, all their focus fixed entirely on Hallie, leaving Zora completely unnoticed.

“Hold on for half a minute longer, Hallie!” Zora shouted toward the fighting girl while quietly scattering fine medicinal powder into the crowd.

The wail of police sirens suddenly echoed from the streets below the building.

Hallie kept fighting without knowing Zora’s plan, yet she trusted her fully, thinking half a minute was nothing difficult.

Before long, all the men surrounding her began to stagger weakly. They raised their fists to strike, only to collapse heavily to the ground one after another before getting close enough.

In an instant, all attackers lay sprawled on the floor, leaving only Hallie standing tall and unharmed among them, standing out sharply.

Zora then marched straight toward Evan, the one who had landed a sneak punch on Hallie earlier. She kicked him hard repeatedly and tossed a handful of fine powder right onto his face.

Rashes broke out all over Evan’s skin the second the powder touched him.

A team of police officers rushed into the scene shortly after, staring silently at the sight of men collapsing one after another, the imposing Hallie standing unhurt, and Zora who had struck

last.

The two young ladies stood out prominently, while the officers still gripped their batons tightly, stunned by the bizarre scene.
